      WILD Help!

Ok. I've trying to WILD the past couple of nights without success and I was wondering if anyone could help me?

      1. I can not stop myself from talking to myself in my head
      2. What do people mean when they say "focus on your breathing"?
      3. Whats the difference between WBTB and WILD other than the fact that you come back to your room in your dream?

      Thanks for your help.

Talking to yourself means your mind isn't blank, maybe because your mind isn't relaxed enough. Maybe try creating relaxing scenery in your head? When you catch yourself beginning to talk to yourself, stop yourself.

Focusing on your breathing... Well, you basically just quiet your head down and listen to yourself breathe in, and then breathe out... Or, feel your chest rise and fall in tune to your breathing. Then you count your breaths, if you want.

WBTB is not really a lucid dream induction technique, other than the fact that it HELPS you get results with whatever technique you're using - WILD, DILD, etcetera. Staying up for a little while after sleeping for a few hours helps you WILD, people say. I can vouch for the validity this, as can many other people. It's helped me quite a bit.

Even if you don't use WBTB and you WILD, you have a good chance of getting a false awakening - when you are back in your bed, within a dream. This is why it's good to do a reality check.

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Only a very, very small percentage of people can WILD before they enter a REM period. By small, I mean small. It is recommended that you get some sleep before you try and attempt. It would be just a waste of time. But you could be part of that percentage. You can't know unless you try.
