      Lightbulb I need to know something about WILD

      If I use the WILD technique to induce a lucid dream,can it work on inducing lucid dreams anytime that I want or does it only work in REM sleep only?

      (I am talking about WILD technique not any other)

      Using the WILD technique, you are first awake, and then as your body relaxes and you enter SP, you will slip into a dream and fall asleep. In a sense, you can do a WILD whenever you want, some people can induce WILD at will, however most people have better success early in the morning - using a WBTB. I won't go into to much detail, it's best if you read a WBTB guide, but basicly it involves you getting up one hour early, compared to your normal waking time, and then trying a WILD.

      As your body is more tired and you've been asleep, it's a lot eaiser to slip back into a dream than it would be not using WBTB.

      To sum up, you can try to WILD whenever you want, but to have the best success, try it with a WBTB. Good luck, J.

      There's two forms of WILD - DEILD (which is WILD but not waiting for SP to kick in, just staying still and falling back asleep right after waking), or the better-known WILD - staying relaxed, still, and waiting for SP.

      WILD works best with WBTB; getting up after 5 or 6 hours of sleep, staying up for a while (differs from person to person) and then going back to sleep but keeping your mind awake.

      I've WILDed once (out of 16 times total) right when I got into bed, but it's pretty hard to do that. It's easier using WBTB, probably because your body's still in REM sleep. When you first get into bed, there's remnants of it still there, but not much.
      We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
      some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

      There are two time periods when I would suggest you make your WILD attempts. One is using WBTB after 4+ hours of sleep. The other time (which is my favorite time to WILD) would be during daytime naps (1-7 hours after waking in the morning). It is possible to WILD outside of these time periods, but it may be extremely difficult.
