Exclamation how to wake up right before, or during rem?

Hey, so i kinda need some help. So far I have been successful WILDING, my first one I started at 4:00 and had a short 5 min lucid and when i woke from that it was 5:30. What im saying is it took me like 1 hour and 25 minutes to actually get in the dream! I believe(not posititive) this is because i started at the end of a rem cycle as opposed to before or during. What is the best way to really wake right before a rem or during one?
      Thanks in advanced,
      Dave

REM starts around 90min in, so, if I would try waking up about 4h and 15min into your sleep to catch a REM period. You could also try around 6h, etc.... REM periods are 4.5h, 6h and 7.5h after you fall asleep.

I've had the same question as you. What I don't get about the setting an alarm 4.5h, 6h, and 7.5h after you fall asleep is that I can never be sure when I will actually fall asleep. Sometimes it might be 10 minutes after I go to bed, other times it might be half an hour... So I don't really know.

You wake up naturally during REM. If you drink a lot of fluids you might be able to get your body to wake you during REM to make you go to the bathroom. Or you could try autosuggestion for it.

So how many cups of water would you suggest?

One tall glass right before bed will probably do it, so 2-3.5 cups...? About a liter.

What I do is approximate the time I fall asleep, usually if I'm tired, it would be within 5 mins of falling asleep, so, I would set an alarm for 4.5h+5min. Recently, I've been trying to wake up before a REM period, so, I would just make sure to set the watch ~4hr and 5 min from when I fall asleep, approximating of course
