Being a long time meditator i can say with complete honesty that you are not meditating, what your doing is day dreaming. The key to meditation is to keep the mind "Awake" and "Aware" |

I was doing my daily meditation this afternoon when I accidentally realized a great technique. Normally I focus on a sound or try and clear my mind. Today something new kind of popped up. It's a little hard to explain, but I would focus myself more into my body with each breath I took. It felt like I was going deeper into consciousness. The deeper I went, the more random thoughts filled my head. Eventually scenes started playing out in my head that I had no control of. I would just sit there and observe them. After around 20 minutes my dog started whining and I kind of "woke up" only to realize that I was in sleep paralysis and had the feeling of floating. I couldn't fall into a dream because it was the middle of the day, but I am going to try this tomorrow morning and see how it plays out. It made the time go by really fast and I never got bored or had to fight any thoughts. |

I don't agree with Indigo Ghost, I think meditation can take many forms, but it's sort of beside the point. I actually think that this sounds like it's more like hypnosis than meditation, which involves focusing on the body and imagery, and I'm sure you can find more information online... but ANYWAYS... |
