Early on, I worked really hard to make Wife's DC do this. I got one really, really good result out of it:
Do you mean you worked irl like MILD/DS association building exercise? I sometimes get my bf to talk about lucid dreaming (mostly when he is not happy to hear about it and makes jokes about me and my practices). Hasn't transfered to dreams yet. But certainly must do this in a dream!

And thanks so much for the link! What an awesome dream, and to have your wife build a lucidity machine - so cool! I see this is the first time you have used the zoom technique too - called targeted flight then. This works great for you and I have done it in non-lds but not that I recall in any ld. So, what's the basis thought expectation when you do it, being pulled?

I sometimes have that too!! Like you are playing it and watching on a screen and that you are the character itself at the same time!
I know, it's really weird and cool at the same time!

And when things get too heated I try to quit the game, by any game means possible.

"I was watching something game-like at the same time participating as in a normal dream" I sometimes have that too!! Like you are playing it and watching on a screen and that you are the character itself at the same time! It is really strange, but it really feels like both when I think back on my dreams, and all dreams like that I am playing Devil May Cry and/or I am the main character of Devil May Cry slashing and hacking demons.

Yes! That was always my exact thought on this. Early on, I worked really hard to make Wife's DC do this. I got one really, really good result out of it:

The Lucidity Machine - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views

After that, I had one more Wife-initiated close call, but no more results after that. I think I found it kind of exhausting thinking about lucid dreaming every time I looked at her and I guess I sort of gave up on trying this...?

What I didn't try was performing this "programming" while lucid. That'd be a great thing to try!

Thanks!

Ah, this is still one of those hopes of mine! I love the idea of convincing a DC to show up and remind me whenever it's a dream. Isn't that such a cool notion?
It absolutely is! There must be a way to crack this "assign a lucidity DC" task and let them come and remind us! I wonder if it would be more effective to summon someone familiar instead and offer him/her the job .

Congrats on the LD, Nyx!

I look at the DC and tell him to repeat this is a lucid dream and remind me of it later on as I would actually like to continue with this scenario

Combines the idea of intelligent, persistent DCs with the promise of lots of lucidity... sign me up!

Thanks!

Maybe it also helps one fall asleep by lowering the blood pressure?

Congratulations on the lucid dream NyxCC.

I might try and get some l-arginine again, although in the past I've always used it at WBTB.

@ Highlander

Thanks! Yes, l-arginine is back in the game. I tried to replicate the vividness I got a few days ago (now posted for reference). Good luck if you decide to restock.

@ CL

Oh, a poem with profanity, that will be super effective for sure!

Ha, great idea! I need an epic poem which covers not only the contents of the current Task of the Year and Task of the Month but also lots of verses about how awesome I am and how confident I should be. I'll probably need to throw in some profanity as well to make it all really work.

Yes, I'll definitely try to do a better job with the hiding next time! Gotta keep a separate "lucidity supply".

Congratulations NyxCC on the lucid dream series inc. the control, the summoning and the hard work on the tasks.

I could do with getting some l-arginine myself as I ran out ages ago, although you did mention the results were more attributed to the WBTB.

Thanks CL! I was very excited about the tea cup summon. It's absolutely mind-blowing how something can appear out of thin air right in front of your eyes.

I can't believe how well you were able to recall your poem, too!
Me too. I was wondering if it was possible at all. Maybe if the info is in a format like a poem or the lyrics of a song it is easier to remember? If that is so, we've got to put all our tasks into poetic form for better access.

About the lattes - you have to hide a bottle/cup and sip a bit next time they are around.

Great series, Nyx! That's some really skillful summoning work, bringing the teacup forth right before your eyes. I also think it's great that you took the time to study the picture that was on the bottom of the cup and let your mind go off in wild directions, generating a backstory and false memories to round out the whole experience.

I can't believe how well you were able to recall your poem, too! I'm always working just to remember the task itself, so preparing for a poetry recital feels like it'd be beyond my abilities!

AND you were on your way with the beanstalk task of the year! I definitely recognized that one!

You're making me sad that we finished off out little latte carton that I'd bought a couple weeks ago. Wife wound up drinking most of it instead of me!

I know, this is why is so hard to become lucid. Ah, the cool things you come across in dreams.

Don't have or have seen any such items, but they are probably manufacturing them already.

Cool, cool! This got me curious:

I'm busy following a trail of Brazilian Olympics miniature toys on the street and into a building.
Sounds very cool! Have you seen some of these toys IWL?

Thanks you three!

@ CL

But I've never tried coupling B6 with some really serious pre-bed MILD. I'll definitely have to try it out!
Well, you already know my impressions from B6 pre bed, very effective for vividness boosting and lucidity (although I have to be careful about those DCs sometimes!). Overall, I think that mild to moderate dream quality enhancement supps would go well with pre bed work. Looking forward to your next pre bed work lds!

Congratulations on the series of lucid dreams NyxCC.

It is though the general rules can be broken which is indeed inspiring.

It's crazy how you have so many LDs in a night. Nice going!

Congrats, Nyx, great job! Multiples on each night and without WBTB? That's really impressive. You know, it's been a while since I've tried valerian pre-bed or B6. IIRC, my B6 lucids always happened after WBTB but when I'd taken B6 pre-bed. But I've never tried coupling B6 with some really serious pre-bed MILD. I'll definitely have to try it out!

I liked the surreal transition from a birthday party to water with a dolphin swimming nearby for you to pet. I love the way totally unrelated ideas flow smoothly into one another in the dream like that, and yet it all just feels right.

For me the trouble with goals that exciting is getting distracted anticipating the experience and forgetting to fall back asleep
And yet - your excitement and anticipation have gotten you such fantastic results the majority of times.

@ fogelbise

Thank you! It really was, I especially liked the spontaneity of the experience.
