A few days ago, I read a book called "Zen in the Art of Archery."
I've noticed in lucid dreams, that the more I try control something, the more the world fights against me. Laozi said, in the Tao Te Ching, "Every force creates a counterforce." I find the more I wish to create left, I create right equally. The more I try to control the more it fights. So, I have to find a balance between what I wish to be and the environment of the dream itself.
In this book "Zen in the Art of Archery" he talks about how trying to calculate in the mind prevents one from mastery. The key is to become one with the bow, the target, the earth, etc., etc... If one can find the art of doing without doing, then the magic of life is experienced without effort. The Taoists call this Wu Wei, doing no-doing.
Anyways, I found this book may be helpful in the art of lucid dreaming. As in Tibetan Dream Yoga, I think lucid dreaming can shine light on the nature of our earthly existence, and that resistance to life can cause life to resist you.
