Exclamation Is Extraction Like From Inception REAL?

So I've been reading a lot about lucid dreaming and especially SHARED DREAMING. So I read that you can not only meet people who also lucid and dream share, but just other people who are dreaming. So why would it be so hard to convince someone who is unaware that this is all real and make them give you information? It seems like a very real possibility and if done well, why couldn't someone do it for a company, for money? Please give your input on this. All is appreciated! Thanks!

Dream sharing still hasn't been proven, and many people, even here, remain skeptical as to whether or not it actually exists, and under what circumstances. Assuming it is possible, you'd have the problem of validating the information given to you. People tend to think irrationally in dreams, to some extent even while lucid. So snooping around for the Coca Cola recipe, for example, wouldn't be likely to return valid results. Another factor is your own dodgy recall. I don't know about others, but for me, specific and exact dialogue is damn near impossible to recall. And, of course, there are the ethical issues of intruding one's mind and violating their privacy for the good of a company, which I am entirely against.

      tl;dr: not gonna happen.

lol, I call BS on that. Maybe through some sort of hypnosis. But, actually like pulling information from a persons mind via your own dreams seems a bit far fetched. Cool idea though.

The limiting factor about human existence is that we only get to experience our own viewpoint.

On the plus side, no one can enter our heads and mess with our preceptions; they have to do it from without.

Unlike laptops or computers our brains don't have a wireless card, and our synapsis aren't broadcasting when they fire. It's a cool concept that we've seen before, but at least in my opinion you muddy the potential gains of lucid dreaming when you start down that path.

I totally agree. I think people get to deep into stuff like this, and it really dilutes the happiness LDing can bring.

I agree with what's been said before. I don't deny all possibility of metaphysical concepts such as telepathy (which is, really, what this would fall under), but I remain unconvinced of its existence.

I imagine that someday technological dream sharing will be possible, I would guess it's just a matter of getting your brainwaves into someone else's head.

I do believe that there is thoughts and information and creativity that you have to dream to find, however. A few years ago, I had been dying for an awesome idea for a novel to write, but consciously I just couldn't think of one. Then one night, I had the longest and most vivid dream I had ever experienced (it still holds the record to this day) and BAM I knew that was it. I'm still working on the book, refining ideas, adding plot twists, but it is based entirely on an idea I "extracted" from myself. I would have never come close to imagining it in a conscious state.

      Just a thought
