      Is meditation religious

And by meditation, I mean the breathing meditation that helps lucid dreaming. Not like Avatar meditation.

As I am not religious, meditation to me is achieving a state of mind that otherwise would not happen. There are real world applications for this and I that it is a good thing to take part in. I do not know much about the religious connections to meditation but do not see it as such.

I'm sure most people will tell you on here that it's not. I don't think it is. It depends on who you ask. Ultimately you will have to decide for yourself.

This one is what i most of the time recommend: https://alohadharma.com/how-to-meditate/

its not that long of a read and you wont find anything religious in it.

      Spiritual maybe... not religious though.

What the deal though? Just curiosity or does it worry you to get involved in a religious practice?

In my opinion it doesn't really matter what it is, if any religious/spiritual practice or belief serves you just take it... doesn't mean you have to adopt every single belief and practice from it, you can cherry pick

Meditation is integrated into some religions, but I don't think meditation itself is a religious practice; it's just a form of relaxation that can have many benefits.

Can I ask what you mean by religious?

Some religions using meditation and breathing exercises to achieve a certain state of mind.

I'm not religious and have meditated a lot.

I'd say no. If you are a strict follower of a religion then that religion may have rules against it or negative beliefs about it
