      Fake alarm

I don't know if I'm allowed to post this here, but I'm gonna still do it. So, I've been trying FILD for 2-3 days now. I have my alarm set in 4 am. Last night I forgot my phone in the kitchen and the alarm didn't wake me up, instead i had a dream where I felt like i was imagining all of that while trying to fall asleep (very tired, my eyelids were heavy and hurt, and very very sleepy). I did a RC in the dream, but I didn't perform any cool lucid stuff because I thought I imagined all of that ()
I'm gonna try this again for a few nights and see what's going to happen.

The alarm wakes me up and I do the (how you called it) dance of fingers xd. But I seem to always fall asleep before I do the RC.
      Yes, I am feeling tired.

      Hello Mikaa,

So, did this happen at 4am? Or was this at the beginning of the night? If it was at the beginning of the night you must have been preeeetttyyyy tired to hit REM so quickly are you sleep deprived by chance?

It sounds like your RC may have failed, or you performed it without truly questioning if it was a dream. All in all, you are on the right track, and it's great that your RC's are translating over to your dreams!

This thing happened to me a couple of times few nights ago when I was practicing some experiences with a programmable vibrating alarm (gymboss).
I was supposed to trigger a mp3 file by pressing the play button of the mp3 player that was attached to my right hand each time I was feeling the programmed alarm going off.

In my case I felt the alarm vibrating (it was a hallucination) so I pressed the mp3 button, before being really awoken few seconds or minutes after by the real alarm.
So basically my brain reproduced the feeling of the vibrating alarm and I felt my dream finger pressing my dream mp3 player, which is close to FILD.
I understood that I had been fooled by my dreaming brain because I have been awoken just after that.
If I wasn't awoken, I wouldn't have been aware that it was a FA.

It's a FA induced by anticipation I guess.

I had some dreams before that, so I think it was around 4 am.

Ahh, so you're doing it right..
I don't know if it occours with you, but when I do FILD and enter inside a dream I sense a strange feeling in my body, like it's tingly
If you fall asleep so quickly you have to decrease the time you do a RC
I usualy do around 10sec, maybe it will work for you too
      ahhh
Sometimes when I'm doing FILD my mind turn off and I start to sleep (it sucks), looks like it happen because I don't keep focused and after that I experience a lot of false awakenings
