Thread: Intro Class Daily Dream Snippets

I liked the imagery in this one:

I'm looking at the candles on the table. They all have a lot of molten wax in them with only a thin ring of solid wax around the rim. One of them finally melts through the last of the solid wax and the molten wax starts pouring out. There's a small tool that's been left with the candles, and it ends up acting as a straw, sucking molten wax from other candles into the pouring one, pouring all the molten wax from all the candles out the one "spout."

I liked the progression of technobabble in this one:

Another item in the cabinet looks like a small fan with a plug jutting straight out of it. Somehow, it's supposed to help cats. I have a moment of confusion - how would that be useful for anything? - but then I remember that I'd seen these a while back and had really wanted one. I remember reading about someone decyphering the protocol using an HTTPS sniffer. It turns out they can scan a whole network using SNMP and report on the names and health of all the attached computers.

Last night I had a lucid, flying between two intricately carved cliff faces made into futuristic town homes. I make my way through the window of one, into the kitchen, and nibbled on some Peanut Butter Ritz. As I as taking the last bite, I tried to take off... then I realized, "I can't eat and fly at the same time, duh."

I didn't recall dreams from last night because I slept very little (5 phone calls, long story). But the night before I had a couple lucids. I managed to get the DC version of my mom to cooperate on one of the tasks of the month. Which is funny because usually it's her oddly defiant behavior in NONlucids that triggers lucidity for me.

I tease, but I admit that I've never tried to combine flying with anything else. That might make a fun task of the month though, huh: Fly while chugging beers. Or fly while writing a letter haha. Should yield some interesting results.

Argh, I dreamed about talking about lucid dreaming and didn't notice anything!

I'm standing on my driveway talking with my pastor and MB. The kids are sitting in camping chairs on my side of the garage; my car is nowhere to be seen. All of us are talking about lucid dreaming. I say something about WILDing and I'm surprised when my pastor knows what it is, saying that he'd once done it himself many years ago. I mention that one of my long-term goals is to learn to have WILDs quickly, on demand. My pastor asks how long it usually takes to get into a WILD. I explain that a skilled WILDer can do it in under twenty minutes, but that newbies can often take more than an hour. I confess that I haven't managed it at all, yet, but that I'm determined to succeed. The conversation continues for a little while longer.

Last night I dreamed I was on a freaking dream investigation team, and I didn't notice I was dreaming either!

I was at Walmart putting stuff in my work vehicle at night. (I have never driven the work vehicle at night...)

Some old, drunk guy stumbled up to me and gave me tomato pasta.

I had a LD today at the end of a normal Dream, but it was just all blackness, and I had to focus very much not loosing the dream.
Do you think it was just a nREM LD? Or what could be the reason for that?

I guess I was hungry last night. First, I dreamed about ordering pizza, then I ended up at a table with lots of meat:

Now I'm at the table serving myself. The first platter has strips of what looks to be roasted pork; I get some. The next platter seems to have the same dish, but instead of being nicely cut, this one is just kind of pulled apart. I grab a hunk. On the other side of the table, the platters have chicken, and they weren't cut up at all; instead, they have a carving knife and big fork on each platter, ready to cut however you want it. The left-hand chicken has already had nearly all the breast meat cut off. The right-hand chicken has a little more breast meat, but not by much. Neither one has had the dark meat touched yet.

Talking about peppermint-shoots and planting them yesterday on the menthol thread - I came into the possession of rose-shoots last night.
And to make sure, they survived and grew - I invented a system with open glass tubes - ca. 40 cm diameter and 1.5 m high - and they were nearly full with other plants and some soil - but especially important were very long mushrooms - feeding and pampering the roses.
The roses liked this and grew upwards in between the other stuff - and you could watch it from outside!
I proudly presented this to my grandmother when they broke through on top

For the purpose of air-circulation and also insulation in summer - I came up with a method, which consisted of stacking up shale-shingles (I looked it up..) vertically all over the space, my window was consisting of - like rows on rows - till it was full (from outside).
But some light was coming through the spaces in between - which mainly made for nice optics in my room - like rays going at weird angles.
I believed, that the air-flow was healthy - or rather that it would have been very unhealthy, if the interstices wouldn´t have been there.

Couple of dreams...

First I remember being in a bad neighborhood and I remember a bunch of creepy looking birds staring at me. They were pretty big in size. Then it's like they all turned away and started feeding or something... Can't remember that much of this one...

Second it was like I was playing an RPG or I was an rpg player. The character was on a horse and also later flying on a dinosaur like
tyrranosaurus Rex... I also remember the character going around another character kinda bowing possibly doing healing potions or something...

I'm always frustrated with my incredibly low levels of awareness and control; I can't seem to remember that it's possible to break out of the dream's "plot."

[LUCID] I'm in a grocery store. Some kind of event is going on at one end. I'm at the other end, getting snacks. Lots of junk food is hanging in front of me; nothing is too my back. A friend is with me, but I knew that as a DC he can't be as fast as me because he has to follow the rules of the dream. I'm still waiting for him at the snacks, and I know that once he arrives and gets his own snacks it'll still take him a while to get back to the event. I start thinking about how I can help him. I decide that adding moving walkways to the store would be a good start, but I don't actually try it.

Now, I'm looking at the store's safe. I pick up something that would let me open it (maybe the key? I don't know), but then I decide, that I'm in a dream, so I should use my mind! I stare at the door, trying to picture the gears inside it spinning, unlocking, and opening the door. Nothing happens. (Full entry)

Hehe - I have a plush Tyrannosaurus Rex - and a Welsh friend has a plush red dragon - and our story goes - he (NL) cannot fly - and that´s why she doesn´t love him. Was it having these small arms and wings?
That would be NichtLustig´s dream!!

Mine - I was sitting on a bench, which was 3-4 meters high up - there was even a wall to lean on - I became lucid by realizing, that I had an atypically strong, almost visceral fear of this "ridiculous" height - I like rock-climbing in the mountains - and would jump that, if it had to be.
At the side was a ladder, which I felt too frightened to use.
I would describe how I felt by - as if I was about to loose grip, fall in the rope from an overhang, where it goes down really deep - not being sure, if equipment would hold.
Even lucid - I took the ladder then..

I was walking with a friend - and he showed me a hedge, where hundreds if not thousands of poison dart frogs were meeting to find a partner - in all colours - it was beautiful!!

In a city much like a German Venedig - I watched a dog jump from a 4th story balcony into the canal - bouncing back out of the water - to land on a 2nd story balcony on the opposite side.
Don´t know how - but we could communicate - and he told me, this bouncing-effect would be a speciality of these canals - and that he regularly visited his dog-friends like this.

I got attacked by a killer-rabbit - I admit - I am a bit embarrassed by my subconscious choice of opponent..
It was nasty - I got lucid - and then it jumped me and bit into my arm - it hurt!!
I thought about anotherdreamer and his gnawing demons and tried to love it - still hurt - so I rather made a roar and flung it away.
And good was.
And lucidity was also gone..

My dreams are always full of jump cuts, but I've never before been able to control them. Now I want to try this when I'm lucid ...

I remember there's an app on my phone that saves snapshots in time and lets me go back to them. I quickly pull it up and hit the Back button. With a sound like a timebug in World of Goo, I'm back at the last light, going through it. I know this is too late - I'm about to get stuck on the turn lane - so I hit the button again. Now I'm at the previous light, and I have time to switch lanes before I get stuck.

I'm really excited about this. If I can rewind time yet still remember everything that happened, the possibilities are endless! I can read all the books I want, then rewind time so that the reading took no time at all! I can spend a long time solving a difficult problem, then rewind time and remember the solution. I try to think if there's a way to bring something back with me, a completed piece of work, but I don't know how that could be done. Maybe there's a way to time-proof a USB stick? I start to think about sleep - surely being awake for a long time would take its toll? - but then I reason I can sleep whenever and then rewind time to before I slept.

I was looking up into the sky and saw 4 faces. I am pretty sure everyone around me was scared and I wanted to get out of there. What I should have done if I were more aware was ask the faces who they were...

Last night had a dream that ended quite nightmarish:
I was a starring character in a Bones/Mentalist style series, where I had to rescue and protect a child prodigy, going through some scenes that could have made me lucid and didn't. Back in the laboratory, the doctors were checking some kind of scars or marks in his forehead. They realized there were three ring-shaped things attached/implanted and disguised to go almost unnoticed. As they remove them a devilish smile starts growing in the boy's face as removing the things unleashes evil horrific telekinetic powers. Right there the episode ends (to be continued...) and I find myself in a room in my parent's home with my wife watching a tv, but the boy's face and evil laugh comes out of other electric appliances in the room. My wife and I are scared to death but I try to convince both of us that it's only an advertisement trick to makes us not miss the next episode.

Your thoughts seem quite familiar to me - I love World of Goo for once - and your spontaneous ideas about using a time machine made me smile - could of been me..

Something unusual from two nights ago:
There were coins scattered on the floor - and I was gathering them up - don't know if I dropped them myself or where they came from.
For some reason - I thought, I had no other way to carry them except putting them into my mouth - which I did.
They had such an intense and horrible taste - not only metallic - I can't compare this to anything.
It was so overwhelmingly nasty - I could still taste it upon waking up from the dream.

I was sailing a boat on a lake, and suddenly - like swerving off the road - I had swerved off the lake by mistake and on a road.
I had to take part in the traffic with it, and not smash into cars with my momentum - for some reasons, the thing had brakes, and I managed.
Even halted at a red-light and got it going again afterwards...
All in all I decided, it is too stressy to sail boats on roads.

I had my first MILD today. Attempted to fly in a building, was so excited. Gravity was definitely not normal, but I only kind of floated a little with each jump.
