      WILD attempt help

I have been attempting wilds for the past week now and i still have yet to see hypnogagic imagery even. What i do is i lay down on my side and i breathe calmly in and out and i either say that when i count from 1 to 100 when i reach 100 i will do a RC, or i do a mantra saying " One the next scene will be a dream, Two the next scene will be a dream, three the next scene will be a dream...etc." and after i do the mantra i fall asleep, but i do always have a dream.. any help?

I am having the same problem, I just cannot seem to get it. The only time I have even reached sleep paralysis was unintentionally and i woke myself out of that. Bump

When are you attempting this WILD...WBTB or nap or upon first going to sleep. It is very difficult to WILD upon first going to sleep and should be avoided. The other two times are just fine. It is good that you fall asleep, that is what you want to do, but you just need to stay aware as you are doing it. While you are doing your mantra, try to casually observe the darkness. Don't completely, full attention focus on it, but just passively look out into it. Once you start to get tired, start to imagine scenes/images in that darkness. Imagine that you are watching them from afar. Soon enough, shapes/images will begin to form. Usually blurry and brief at first. You might think twice whether you actually saw something (this is good, it means that SP is trying to set in). Keep doing it and the scenes will become more and more vivid and brighter. Other HH may begin at this point. Anything distracting or frightening should just be ignored. Continue to observe everything as if you were half-interested and remain calm. Hopefully this will help both of you out. Make sure you are performing these WILD attempts with WBTB, or mid day naps. Good luck to you and if you have any specific questions, don't hesitate to ask!

thanks Yoshi. that helped me out alot! what i have started doing is when i first close my eyes i think of this Giant dream house. i imagine walking up to the front door and opening it to this elaborate mansion. i try to touch and feel and smell every aspect of the house. and as i walk through i think stay aware. and then when i open the last door to the backyard i see this wonderful and calming garden. I then jump into the pool which takes me into outer space. and i imagine counting down from 20 to 1, and as i countdown, i imagine every number as a different element such as ice, fire, wind, water, etc.... and as i did that for the first time last night. i didnt even realize until i woke up, that i saw this man far away in space trying to get me to step through the door of wake and lucidity... so tonight my goal is to stay more aware and focused on the dream
