Smile New to Dreamviews and Lucid Dreaming

      Hello people of Dreamviews!

I was thinking of introducing me to this community where I have been lurking for a couple of weeks!
First of all, I have never seen such a nice community with so many friendly and polite people, I really like that!

Myself: My name is Philip, I am 18 years old and I live in Sweden. I'm currently studying in upper secondary school, civics and behavioural science in Umeċ which is located in the north of Sweden, or, yeah in the middle you could say. When I dont study I am cleaning kindergartens, offices and other public buildings.

I really love filosophy and hanging out with my beloved fiancee which is pretty much it.

So I first heard of Lucid Dreaming earlier in 2013 and I got totally hooked on it, It seemed really cool so I started with reading a little, doing RC and then trying to attempt a WILD as my first attempt.. I was too uneducated in the subject so as time went by without any progress I got pretty much demotivated and then forgot it more and more after each day that went by. Although I did get a hell of a good dream memory for a while since I had a Dream Journal.

What I believe is about 3 weeks ago my teacher just suddenly came in to the classroom and told us that her friend Elsa is visiting us. (She is kind of a dream-expert). Just as she said it, it was like my head got filled with thoughts about Lucid Dreaming and I got extremely excited to begin with this awesome journey again!

I have been writing in a DJ for 1½ week so far, It turns out pretty good but some nights I just dont remember the dreams as good as I hoped I would, but I think to myself that I'm new, I got more nights to practice and that I probably woke up in the wrong time. My goal is to get a DILD as my first LD. I am doing Reality checks every day with 50 minutes intervals. I stop, imagining that I am in a dream, checks for details to verify and then count fingers, thumb/palm and the nose pinch.

Sadly, I don't have so many friends since I am not in the same mental age as they are. You get it. But I have my fiancee and one other friend, her name is Lisa and I use to share my dream experiences with her and vice versa. My fiancee sadly don't like LD, (she doesn't really know what it is to be honest)

To conclude my introduction, I just want to say hello to everyone and I hope to gain some fellow Dreamviews friends!

Thanks for me! Have a wonderful night!

      Best regards, Philip

I started getting back into lucid dreaming on December 2013 and had my first WILD in March 2014. It was mind-blowing!!! I had like two others after that. Since then, most of my lucid dreams have been DILDs and I have on average 2 a week. This is not really due to failed attemps but mostly because of the fact that I find wake back to beds soooo tiring sometimes and tend to get migraines when I perform wake back to bed too much. Regardless, there's nothing like lucid dreaming. It truly is a gift to mankind. If only more people knew about it, but then again it's kinda nice to have an underground community =-) Welcome to Dreamviews makeupsex. haha funny name. :-)

      Welcome to DVs!!

In addition from Gab's awesome post, I want to recommend you to check out:

Attaining Lucidity ---------------> Many techniques here as well as users sharing their own experience.

Tasks of the Month & Year --------------> This will give you a great motivation to lucid dream as these tasks are fun and gives you a reward for accomplishing them (and that will be an extra goal to help yourself to lucid dream!)

Enjoy! You will have a blast here

Welcome! Love your username. I am just like you, I tried to WILD on my first try as well. Then I kinda gave up for a few months. Anyways it's good to see that you're so devoted to doing multiple reality checks regularly. I would read up on self awareness too!
