      When I was younger and woke up from a nightmare, I'd be scared that I was still dreaming.

      But now, since I can reality check thanks to lucid dreaming, I can make sure I've really woken up right from the start.

      I spent so long under my covers in the middle of the night after a nightmare when I was like, nine or ten. I thought I was still dreaming because I couldn't RC, and every time I'd hear a noise, I'd flip out. Thank goodness those days are over. Anyone else used to do this?

      I think i used to be like this. I remember having false awakening's sometimes after nightmares, but it does not happen anymore thank god.
