Let me introduce you to the underappreciated art form of sewing. Note that all of my better plushies are from video games and for the lesser well known ones I will include their official artworks as reference.

Here we have Meta Knight from the Kirby series … as a ball … riding a rainbow. This may sound very random but that´s exactly what one of the games is about.

My next few works will be from the Touhou Project which is a series of Japanese bullet hell shmups with a 100% female cast.

Here we have Kisume, a girl who spends her life in a bucket. This was my first bigger project and finishing it greatly boosted my confidence in my abilities. Well my mother helped me with some advice and made the hair.

There is an interesting story to this one. A few months after we finished her, my mother told me she had a dream where she saw a girl in a bucket being carried up into the next floor of a building. I immediately told her that this dream seemed to be inspired by Kisume. Only then my mother realized the similarities between her dream and the plushie we were making. Her subconscious seemed to remember the connection “small girl + bucket” in her dreams while her conscious didn´t until I pointed it out.

I had a similar dream to this one. In my childhood I used to play with a toy with a small blue hose as a whip which I called the “Water Whip”. In the dream someone used a normal sized blue hose as a whip. Only some time after I woke up I noticed the parallels. The scene in the dream seemed way to similar to that toy to call the similarities coincidence, but the dream was still different enough not to directly remind me of it.

Well that´s it for now. I´ll keep this thread updated in the next few days until I run out of plushies to show.
