Angry I think ADHD might pose a problem

I have ADHD (not bad at all, I can concentrate on just about anything unless I reeeeally don't care about it. Like school ) and I think that's a stumbling block for me. I have the hardest time keeping my mind set on something when I'm attempting a WILD or other induction method. I abruptly end up in the dream state with no memory of transition and wake up later feeling slightly annoyed.

I'll keep practicing my reality checking habits in the meantime.

Anyone else with ADHD have methods they've found to work?

      Thanks!

Hey! I have AHDH also. Not very intense though, im sure no one would ever guess it. That might be becasue iv grown out of the hyperactiveness a lot as iv gotten older. But I do find it extremly hard to concentrate on most things. Only things that dont take my concentration away is probably video games haha. But yea iv tried WILDing as it sounds like the coolest way to LD but have never gotten very far. I get a little bit of numbness but never the vibrations or anything like that. I just fall asleep and forget because my minds always thinking all this crazy shit. I also wriggle around a lot when trying to get to sleep, what about you? Iv heard people with ADHD are very fidgety and thats definatly with me haha.

So ADHD might cause a problem for WILDing but dont worry thats not the only way to LD. Over the last two months iv been roughly having a LD every two-three days and im always getting better and more frequent despite some anoying dryspells! But yea all I do is RC a few times through the day and think about LDing as much as I can. I just visualise RCing and realising its a dream, then stabilzing and then doing whatever goal I want to do. I do this a few times a day and then as many times as I can remember when trying to go to sleep and this helps a lot for me.

Do you have trouble going to sleep at night? On average it takes me about 1-2 hours to get to sleep at night. Im used to it but it still gets realy frustrating. I recon if I could go to sleep a lot easier like the average person which is what about 20 mins? If I could do that I recon it would be a lot easier to WILD. I dunno

Yup, I'm fidgety. Always tapping something in rhythm to whatever song is stuck in my head. It usually takes me anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours to fall asleep too, although some relaxation exercises help a lot in that field.

I'll keep up the reality checking. I remember getting close one night, I had an intention in mind but never quite got around to it before I woke up.

Haha yea im always tapping away to random tunes and beats haha. I cant keep still at all yea I hate the hard to sleep part, I realy hope it will get better. Im thinking about going to see a homeopath and getting a remedy to help sleep. Iv had a lot of very successful remedies from my homeopath before.

How long have you been trying to LD? It took me about a month to get my first one so keep at it and youl get there

Hehe >cough< well... about a week and a half. But even since my start of a dream journal my dreams have become waaaaaay more vivid. Recall has always been high for me. I got dang close one night, like I mentioned above, and I've actually had one or two a long time ago.

I've kind of made up my mind to not be dependent on therapists or supplements for lucid dreaming. I want to be able to do it anytime, anywhere, anyhow.

i have severe ADD its like ADHD without being hyper active but for the most part the concentration problems in school are familiar to my problems. i don't know if you already readed about this but we posses a trait other people cant use it the same as us. its called concentration. you already mentioned its a problem if you don't care about it but don't you care about LDing?. i care so much that i have hyper-focus over it. google the term if it isnt familiar to you. i this state i can not think of anything for longer than 10 minutes and disconnect almost all senses of reality. i don't feel the ground i am sitting on dont hear the tv don't see anything don't keep getting thoughts in my head etc. this aids me in wilds also i see it more like a gift from god rather than a obstacle hope i helped you somehow

I DO care, which is why this is interesting to me. It seems my mind will do whatever it wants regardless of my intentions when I'm nearing the dream state, making it hard for me.

Thats a goof way of looking at it Kahiko. I play a lot of video games and I can super concentrate on that. Theres a few other things like this but when WILDing I loose concentration easily just like when going to sleep

Heh. I used to be able to play video games for hours. Now I get bored in like 40 minutes...
