      Question about first lucid

So I got my first lucid last night since starting at dvs
I know this is probably the millionth thread like this but I got some questions.
So I slept in my living room and I ended up there in the dream too an instantly knew I was dreaming. I performed my reality check (plugging my nose and breathing) an I could breathe through one of my nostrils . Has this ever hapened to anyone ?
Then it was really blurry and It looked like I was looking at a flatscreen tv and not full screen vision. I rubbed my hands together and I couldn't quite FEEL them but my screen expanded a bit. After a few seconds I had this overwhelming sensation to blink and when I did I woke up.

      So in short:

      1) have you ever done the nose reality check and could only breathe through one nostril ?

      2) does it ever look like widescreen to you and not full screen ?

      3) so you ever get an overwhelming sensation to blink ?

Sorry of this is written poorly, I'm writing it on my iPod.
      Thanks in advance

      1. I don't think so. I only ever use the nose RC and when it "works" I'm always able to breathe through both nostrils.
      2. Hmm... Usually it just looks the same as it does IRL. At least as far as the "screen" is concerned. There'll usually be many weird things going on visually.
      3. Not that I can recall.

Congratulations on the lucid and may you have many more.

I get a lot of 'partial' reality checks like only breathing through one nostril. Often, I can't push my finger through my hand but the back of my hand gets pushed out in an unrealistic manner. I can't say that I get an overwhelming sensation to blink (i've never thought about it) but when I'm having the sort of dream when the reality checks aren't fully working, I'll often have weird compulsions that are lacking in the dreams when the reality checks fully work.

As far as visuals go, I've had a dream where I was dreaming that I was having a wild (I don't count it as lucid because I thought I had fallen asleep in IRL and not in a dream) and it looked like everything was yellow. In my full control lucids, white stuff often glows. I've never had the widescreen effect that I can recall though.

For the first question, yes, a couple of times.

      For the others, both no.

First off, congratulations on your first lucid dream! That's really great

Next... I don't think I've done the nose check and only been able to breathe through one nostril, although I wouldn't worry about it too much. Next time, if this throws you off, try doing more than one reality check.

The widescreen/fullscreen thing... It always depends how my dreams look. When they're not completely vivid they will look widescreen or like a movie, when I think back on them. My really vivid dreams I see how I normally would during waking life.

I haven't had the overwhelming sensation to blink, but I'm sure that's fine

Again, congratulations on your first lucid dream!

      Congrats on your dream!

      1) Yea I've had that before. Practicing in real life to know exactly what the RC will feel like helped me haha
      2) No, but weird stuff like that happens a lot
      3) I've never had the sensation to blink, but when I close my eyes too long I also lose my dream.

What helps me the most is to just try and chill at first by walking around and examining things, the more I look at stuff the more clear it becomes.
