I'm no expert in WILD, but that sounds like definite progress/success to me. Every time you try you'll learn more and gain more control, so be persistent and patient, yeah? |

So last night I tried to WILD and ended up falling asleep. I had a dream, and I eventually realized it was a dream, and automatically did the nose pinch RC. I woke up immediately. So I tried to WILD again. I fell asleep again and almost immediately realized I was in a dream, and without even thinking about it I RC'd again. Then I woke up again! |

Maybe you were just becoming excited, and it wasn't necessarily the RC? After the first time it happened, it may have been because you were thinking "I hope I don't wake up now" which can, surprise, cause you to wake up. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I agree with puffin, it may be that type of thinking that woke you up. Next time, if you are afraid you are going to wake up, quickly do the spin technique. The spin technique is where you spin (lol) so you can stay in the dream. Also, try shouting, "increase lucidity" or "increase clarity" . |
|
I believe that your subconscious attacks you when he knows that you know that you're dreaming, some people wake up once they know they are dreaming, others got paralyzed in the dream, others hears a noisy statics and see lightnings .. |
|
Yeah, even though I tried to ignore it, the thought "I hope I don't wake up" was probably still in the back of my mind. I'm pretty sure I've got the excitement under control now though. And as far as spinning, I really didn't have any time to spin or rub my hands because the instant I became lucid I would wake up. I'm definitely going to work on remembering to stabilize the dream right away. |

FALSE AWAKENING! I think the time you realized you were dreaming and woke up from your dream is only false awakening. Why don't do a NP RC when you wake up? It happend to me many times. Whenever I realized I was in a dream and did the NP RC, I woke up in my bed immediately. However, I always know that it's a false awakening. I did the NP RC again and enjoy my LD! |

After doing the nose pinch, if you continue to remain conscious of your breathing and control it too much, then you will wake up. Controlling your breathing in a way that does not mimic natural sleep breathing will do this. |
