Help in Being More Aware in Dreams

I used to watch videos just before falling asleep, and I thought that that was what made me dream of normal stuff and therefore I couldn't become lucid. However I know realize that in most of my dreams I'm not concious enough of what's going on. When I wake up I remember what happened but during the dream everything is blurry. Also in last night's dream, I saw Dobby bleeding to death. That should have been a clear sign that it was a dream, but I didn't recognize it, it could be because I was in my house, but still, I feel like in my dreams I'm simply doing stuff unconciously. Is there any way I can be mor concious in order to become Lucid easier? Up to now all of my lucid experiences have simply happened, but not because of a reality check. (One was an accidental DEILD).

As our logical centre of the brain is almost completely shut down during sleep, anything is possible and we don't think anything is strange. Training yourself to recognise dreamsigns, or spontaneously doing RC's (DILD) will increase your chances. Try the different techniques and you'll see which one fits you the best. Train your "Awareness". Get a feel for how you feel when you're awake, what you see, hear etc. Feel your body and know you should feel. Thinking alot about lucid dreaming, and having intentions with mantras (MILD) is what I do, and I turn lucid around once a week.

Good luck, and keep on dreaming!

Here is something simple, Go to sleep consciously(BodySleepMindAwake). To maintain focus, relax yourself and put a picture (playing catch with a friend helps me) in your head, let that grow into a scene, while you concentrate on this relax your body so you can acheive "controlled sleep paralysis" once your body is completly relaxed, watch as the images around you ingulf your sourondings, when you enter the dream, asked to be taken to the "ASTRAL PLANES" .When you get there you'll see what im talking about.

Dreams feel exactly like real life when we're in them, so there isn't really a difference unless you really question if you're dreaming or not, and take the time to figure out which state you're actually in. Try to be as skeptical as possible, because if you just do routine RCs, probably nothing will happen. Like Matte87 said, the logical center of our brains is almost completely asleep, so try a short WBTB - do a few simple math problems, do a RC, and ask yourself if you're dreaming - then go back to sleep.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Visualizing a scenario while in deep relaxation helps with entering the dream state lucid, however, a DILD is more difficult and requires discipline. Our prefrontal cortex, which controls cognition, is switched off during dreaming thus all appears normal unless you have trained yourself to question silly or impossible dream visions. Good luck to you!
