      Can't get the afternoons.

Hey guys, im having trouble with the afternoons.
EVERY single time, i sleep in the afternoons, i have the goal of getting lucid in the arvo. Now heres the thing.

      a) i only sleep for 1 hour. thats it.
      b) i never actually have a dream, so im not in REM?

So, what are my chances of getting in REM in the arvo sleeps, because every time, i dont dream, making me beleive im not in REM. Now, i have excellent recall, so i know its not that im frogetting im dreaming.

Now ive seen plenty of ppl dream in the arvos, so why cant i.
Also if i sleep during the arvo i cant sleep for a LONG time at night, takes me like 4 hours longer to get to sleep

Any help guys? could it be the time im doing on? I go from 6:00 to 7:00pm usually...

Wow, I thought that everytime you go to sleep, you go through a rem period, isnt that the case? Or it might have to do with the timing, which I dont understand why. As I understand it, it takes a certain amount of time to enter REM, not the time that you are sleeping in, I think it is about 70-90 minutes after you fall asleep that you enter the REM period, that may be your problem, you only sleep for one hour.

Hmm good theory, any experienced ppl on here able to back this info up please?
Yeah thats more logical, but i honestly dont think i can sleep longer then that. I have failed so many times at trying to lucid without 6 hours sleep, i honestly have given up, i dont think i even know what to do anymore lol. xD

How long do you sleep at night? If you get a good amount of sleep, your body might not need to enter REM at all. Or, it just might not happen as quickly, therefore you'll need to sleep more in order to actually enter REM. In a nutshell, yes, that's what elucid's saying, and yes, I believe that theory is correct. :3
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

So your saying i should sleep less at night, so that my body needs sleep in the arvos, therfore i will enter REM?

Well, no. You shouldn't get less sleep at night in order to dream during a nap. In your situation, I'd suggest sticking to dreaming/lucid dreaming at night, which can be just as easy.

When I feel the siesta effect I take a nap and fall asleep very easily and sleep for about an hour. I rarely dream but I find it an excellent time to WILD immediately upon awakening.
