      Consistently acheiving SP without my mind falling asleep... now what?

      I've gotten to the point where I can pretty much get to SP at will. But I have a couple of problems:

      1. The weird noises & stuff freak me the crap out and I always just end up deep breathing to exit and wake up.

      2. Even if I rode that whole thing out, I don't know how to get from SP to LD. Where's the platform 9 3/4?

      I have the same problem, I don't mind the hallucinations anymore and I actually really enjoy SP now I just cant seem to get into a LD. The only time i've managed a WILD was by accident and I cant seem to do it again. Help would be much appreciated.

      i think practicing meditations that quiten the mind will mean you will have fewer problems with the weird noises and things. i think just through general experience of sp you will slowly be able to be more at ease with it. at least for me it was terrifying at first, but these days is getting alot easier. i think a conscious effort to confront your fears can be really helpful in overcoming them

      Update: This morning I successfully hit SP once again without a problem. I just told myself as I felt the "lead blanket" feeling that if I heard stuff it wouldn't be real, etc. etc. Basically the opposite of psyching myself out. No auditory hallucinations, no anything freaky, so I just waited. I started feeling the vibrations, and kind of waited for them to end. After a minute or two by my estimation, I definitely felt a kind of "shift" as if I was entering a dream. The vibrations ceased and I felt very much asleep, so I tried to conjure up a dream scene. Nothing. All I could see was black. I kept trying to imagine a scene to be standing in or anything like that, but nothing really happened. Everything I pictured was just fleeting and it didn't really make a scene... it was more like I was just imagining a scene as if I was awake. Anyway, I tried futilely for a good 5 or 10 minutes to actually make the dream do something, but nothing happened. Eventually I just woke myself up.

      I'm a little frustrated. I'm glad the SP isn't going to be a problem anymore, but there's not much point going through the trouble if I'm not going to be able to get into an LD out of it. So what methods have worked for you guys transitioning from SP into an LD?

      @Invictus

      I agree with whiterain that some meditations should help you but I also feel that you may be trying to hard. You may want to try a different method like affirmations and then look for oddities in your dream.

      P.S. What are you doing to get to SP so quickly, meditation, other?

      i found out while in sp if you want to get into a LD invert your eyes to your third eye location and focus pressure not to much to it tto ache though and you should start to enter the dream, you often start in your bed i found out
      It works for me all the time but lately i havnt been trying to go lucid through sp, iv practiced for obe Instead while in sp and you basically have to relax the whole way until your body detaches itseld never force yourself to obe because most likely you will ruin your chances of having an obe also protect youself and think of white light healing your body

      Did you try opening your dream eyes? The first time I ever succeeded at a WILD was when the vibrations and stuff stopped and everything was black. I thought, "Well, the vibrations stopped and I don't feel like I'm awake. I must be asleep." I didn't imagine a dream, I just opened my eyes. I thought I was really awake but did a reality check to find out I was dreaming. I hope I've helped.

      When you reach the Theta brainwave state (what people on this board refer to as 'vibrations') you are in a form of self-hypnosis. Simply visualize a peaceful setting as your imagination and your dreams both stimulate the Secondary Visual Corteces (AKA cortex) in your occipital lobe. The Delta brainwave state will soon follow. Good luck with your LD quest!
