Is SP really anything to be afraid of

I've been trying for a long time to have my first lucid, and I want to try this method. Is there really anything to be afraid of? If you don't think Im up for it is there a better method for me? It's about 12 at night and I'm strangely not even tired. What should I do?

No, there's nothing to be afraid of at all. Sleep paralysis (and vibrations, and hypnagogic imagery) already happens every time you go to sleep. It's completely natural and essential for dreaming without accidentally hurting yourself or others, like putting on a seatbelt to keep you on your bed. The worst that can happen is you can be spooked by the unfamiliar feeling and wake yourself up.

You shouldn't try to WILD unless you've already slept some that night. It will take a long time to get to sleep paralysis and your dream will be like a few minutes at best anyway. Not worth the effort.

Nope; although the sensations of sleep paralysis can be unnerving at first, it's a total natural process. Only difference is, you're conscious when it happens. GuyCecil made a good point too, if you want to enter SP you should do it after having five or six hours of sleep.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I'm on the fence, personally, regarding the fact that if you think about scary hallucinations you'll get them. I've had the most serene, calm hallucinations before, even though I was scared out of my mind (this was before I knew what SP was), so I can't really confirm it.
