My first ever lucid dream that I remember was accidental, when I was about 12.
For my first self-induced lucid dream, the facts are: I had been doing reality checks for a couple weeks. I told myself the night before with a feeling of conviction that I was going to have a lucid dream tonight, intending to speak to my subconscious. I had undergone an INTENSE life-change (forced to go to a spiritual healing centre in Costa Rica for 3 months, had a tiny cabin with no technology, was lied to and told that there would be internet, was in what I thoguht was a cult full of strange people trying to brainwash me ... I could go on with self-pity explaining the injustices I suffered for paragraphs).
I've heard that an abrupt life change can aid one in lucid dreaming (because of heightened awareness or something? CILD?) I guess it was a MILD, and usually is, unless I have the definition wrong. It seems to me that a MILD is a subcategory of a DILD. Do I have this right?
