The title says it all, I just want to know what method you guys used to achieve your first LD.
I've only had one semi-lucid dream, but it was a DILD. How bout you guys?

I actually got an LD after performing WILD for one of the first times

My first was more by accident than actually trying to do it purposefully, but my first intentional LD (last night ) was DILD. Somehow I recognized sight and colors in the dream as being more vivid than real life and checking my hands confirmed I was dreaming. My constant RCs from the past week or two seem to finally be making their way into my dream consciousness

Like I think will be the case with most people, my first ever lucid dream was a DILD. Quite honestly though, I supposed it could be categorized as a MILD in that I have just joined Dreamviews a few weeks earlier. I thought the idea of lucid dreaming was magnificent, so for those first few weeks it was on my mind constantly... especially as I was falling asleep. I just remember having a strange sensation something was off or different or clouded.. POW! The thought hit me. Nothing more to it than that. Of course, it wasn't the most vivid or controlled lucid dream (none of mine ever are), but it certainly was the first time I felt aware while dreaming.

My first ever lucid dream that I remember was accidental, when I was about 12.

For my first self-induced lucid dream, the facts are: I had been doing reality checks for a couple weeks. I told myself the night before with a feeling of conviction that I was going to have a lucid dream tonight, intending to speak to my subconscious. I had undergone an INTENSE life-change (forced to go to a spiritual healing centre in Costa Rica for 3 months, had a tiny cabin with no technology, was lied to and told that there would be internet, was in what I thoguht was a cult full of strange people trying to brainwash me ... I could go on with self-pity explaining the injustices I suffered for paragraphs).

I've heard that an abrupt life change can aid one in lucid dreaming (because of heightened awareness or something? CILD?) I guess it was a MILD, and usually is, unless I have the definition wrong. It seems to me that a MILD is a subcategory of a DILD. Do I have this right?

Mine was MILD, now i dont try it because i don't think it's a successful method for me.
I now depend on DILD, solely on awareness xD.
