      Problems

      Hi everyone. I'm new here.

      Background:
So far I've had a few EILDs with lucidremix.mp3. it seems to be the best method for me. The problem is that whenever I try to do something supernatural, like fly, summon something, or have sex, I either lose lucidity or wake up. This is when I do get lucid, which is very rare.

The vast majority of the time I get fake lucid dreams. That is, I do an RC in my dream (it's usually the finger through the palm), go "Oh cool, I'm dreaming", and then I'll maybe fly or summon something, but then it's back to the dream. Then when I wake up I know (I don't know how I know, I just know) that I wasn't REALLY lucid at all, it was just part of the dream.

      Here is my method:
I go to sleep with a playlist of relaxing music. After an hour or so it starts looping lucidremix.mp3. That's it.

I don't do RCs or anything in real life religiously (because i have a hard time remembering too), all i do is try to push my finger through my palm whenever i think about lucid dreaming or when i see something strange. Furthermore there was a point in my life where I WOULD RC in real life religiously but sadly this didn't work either because for some reason I become a blubbering moron in my dreams. in real life i would RC in life religiously and whenever i saw even the slightest hint of strangeness. But in dreams, no matter what I saw, it never ever struck me as strange and I would NEVER RC. So WILDs, MILDs, etc., none of those work for me. EILDs is the furthest I've gotten but i have these problems and I don't know what to do. So please help.

I'd look up a tutorial on dream stabilization. If you're willing to take the time to ground your dreams they'll last considerably longer.

I'll second that. It should be the first thing you do, I have the same problem.

Thanks guys. I still have the same problem though :/
Here's an excerpt from my DJ to be a little more specific about it

"...I have a false awakening at some point, waking up in a differently shaped version of my room. I do the finger through the palm RC but it doesn't work. At some point I notice that the weirdly shaped paper from the dream i had a false awakening from is on my person and I start to think that I must be dreaming. I look at my hands, 2 fingers are missing. I realize I'm dreaming. I decide to try and stabilize the dream by focusing on the wallpaper until I can see its details. Satisfied, I decide I want to try flying. I walk to my window and say firmly, “Open.” It opens, but for some reason there's another window behind it. Frustrated, I say “Break!” and the window breaks open, at which point I jump outside it and start flying. I fly toward some palm trees and for some reason Jack Black is there. I decide I want to fly up above the palm trees but for some reason I can't. I get to about the top of them and start falling. I'm kind of frustrated because this seems to happen a lot so I decide I want to try something else. I fly back up to the top near the front door of my house. [this part is removed because it's explicit, lol. Lets just say i tried something else and it didn't work] I walk toward the bottom of the hill I live on and decide I want to try teleporting back to where I used to live as a child. I visualize the living room as vividly as I can, close my eyes, open them, and nothing happens, I'm still at the bottom of my hill. At this point I completely lose lucidity....."

So yeah, I can kind of do more now, like make windows open and fly for a little bit before falling, but still it's really frustrating not being able to do anything and I lost lucidity really fast.

Practicing lucid dreaming for only a month and already becoming lucid is great. But it does take time and patience to achieve set goals. I have read books were individuals have been lucid dreaming for 20 + years and still do not fully understand them. Just keep up with your dream journal and write as much detail and try to recall as many dreams a night as you can. You are too frustrated lol. Next time you become lucid, instead of flying around trying to make a supermodel appear before you, just walk around and observe your surroundings. Talk to dream characters and ask them questions, its an experience lol. Slowly start discovering your powers in the dreaming world, they will not just appear at will with little to no experience.

I guess I just expect them too because I had my first LD by accident years ago and I was able to do anything I wanted. And now that I'm trying to do them manually, I can't. It's frustrating. But I guess you're right. I'll try to start more slowly.

It some times helps to think of a plan before entering your dream. Everyone becomes a moron while dreaming, and we all get easily distracted by things in them. If you have a list of things you want to try to do though, and you remind yourself of it before sleeping, it can help you stay focused. If you already decided before going to sleep, it reduces how much thinking you need to do in the dream, and lets you focus more.

Last night was so frustrating. I had several false awakenings and did a successful RC every time, but lost lucidity within minutes each time.
