Waking up in the middle of the night more

      Hey there,
      I've been trying LD'ing since 20 days ago, LD'd 6 times using DILD/MILD/DEILD.

      wondering something,

I've been waking up in the middle of the night much more, (or have been conscious of this), so I wish to take advantage. I'm talking...3am? 4am? and I sleep @ about 9/10/11pm.

Problem is, I always reality check after waking, so..does that mean my chances of a DEILD are gone, as I interrupt the sleep paralysis?

Or can I RC upon wakening and then try to stay still or get into a comfortable position and do lots of mantras/auto suggestions while trying to get back to sleep?

Any help on this matter will be appreciated. Thank you

Well actually, you're waking up at the perfect time to WILD. I highly suggest trying it next time.

wait, what do you mean? is 3/4/5/am the best times? according to what time you go to bed though...?
I thought WILDs were supposed to be best in the later REM phases

wild? uhhh, bit uncomfortable with WILDs
err, well, actually, DEILD is WILD isn't it? Kinda?
Also, could you please answer my question regarding RC's upon wakening? Is it safe to RC then stay still or should I not even RC and just open my eyes after dreaming and just shut them back again without doing anything else?
      Thanks.

And I get about 4/5 hours of sleep before I wake in the middle of the night so I guess you're right about the WILD maybe. I have to wake at about 7am though for school on weekdays.

      Any help please?

around when do you go to bed?
and anytime you wake up and are aware of it, DO NOT MOVE because you could DEILD (without having to exit from a dream) sort of like CAN WILD without the alarm but a DEILD without the dream exit.
but if you wake up and move, then RC.

One suggestion on WILD. An interesting feature of our brains is that it can and will complete a waking dream upon arousal if you immediately visualize your dream setting/environment(if you remember it) . Try to complete your waking dream with visualization while affirming you will become lucid. Good luck to you!

Raduga's book has a few great methods to enter a lucid dream while in bed without even opening your eyes and moving. Just need to be awake enough to realize you are there Check it out, good stuff for sure, and its free Theres a post somewhere on the forums, or just google SOBT Raduga, first result, scroll down, you can get the whole book for free. Its like 270-300 pages, but the first 150 are all you really need to read. Rest of the stuff is case studies and peoples experiences.

This also happens to me I go to sleep at around 10-11pm and ill always wake up at around 3-4am. That is a good time for the DEILD method?

For me it usually depends on how tired I am. If I'm pretty awake even when I wake up at 3am, I'll plan it more, do RC's etc. but if I'm just exhausted then I'll try to do a WILD, and since I'll fall asleep after about 5 seconds, it usually works.

i don't think anyone really answered your question about DEILDing and if you should reality check when you wake up. Ok first off definitley do reality checks every time you wake up. Usually when i wake up ill have to go to the bathroom so while im walking to and from ill do 2 reality checks. as far as DEILD goes, the whole point of a DEILD is to try and get back into a dream you were currently just in. Have you ever had a dream and at the end of it you feel it or see it start to fade out. well if you lucid or just dreaming and you feel a dream fade out next youll wake up. when you do come to your senses and wake up DO NOT open your eyes. Keep your eyes closed and don't move. try to visualize the dream you just had in your head. visualize the landscape, try and rememeber what you felt as well. eventually your supposed to enter back into it. its like a half WILD i guess. well i hope this helped answer your question. Good luck!
