Going to sleep hungry to induce LDs

I've just considered something. Would going to sleep a bit hungry increase the chances of having a LD?

The reason I suspect it might, is because while hungry our minds are less comfortable and more in what I call 'survival mode'. While all our basic needs are overly-satisfied (we're warm, safe, full, and otherwise content) we don't have to focus on survival and consequently are more aware of everything.

This is an exaggeration, but to get what I'm trying to say if it isn't clear already, consider the difference between a fat and content house-cat and an ally-cat or wild cat. The wild cat that has to fight for its survival is more aware of its surroundings, is more shifty-eyed and quick to flinch.

This is, I believe, the reason why we're more likely to have a LD after undergoing a drastic life change like going on a trip. We know that we've abandoned our regular comfortable environment where our safety is assured, and we subconsciously become more aware of everything.

It seems likely to me that, like change, hunger makes us more alert, and therefore more likely to have a LD.

Everything I'm claiming in this post I've concluded is likely based is on personal experience. If your experience differs, or you have any reason to disagree, please discuss it.

it could help, but remember that anything which will make you more aware of the physical sensations of your body, is likely to make dreams less stable with more chance of waking up

My experience has been when I go to bed hungry, my dream recall is minimal if not zero. Only when I eat well I can recall several dreams when I wake up.

Hunger as a consciousness anchor? It could happen. It's not going to happen to me, however.

I guess you could use hunger as a WILD anchor.

i read at neuro soup that fasting for 3 days could induce lucids. idk how credible their info is but its interesting enough to try it. heres the link... Lucid Dreaming: A Guide to Successful Lucid Dreams scroll down to 3

I have read years ago, that one can increase the chances of having an erotic drean, when going to bed hungry, but I can give no information on the source of this. From what I have read here, I am not sure. On the one hand I fully agree, that it might increase awareness, but being comfortable seams to be an important factor also (it is even more important to roll over when WILDing, than no movement but being in an uncomfortable position). Considering this, I am not sure if this is good or bad.

      Regards
      Lorgarn
      Come, thick night,
And pall thee in the dunnest smoke of hell,
That my keen knife see not the wound it makes,
Nor heaven peep through the blanket of the dark,
      To cry, 'Hold, hold!'

I have waterfasted several times (for about a week each time) and experienced that while eating light, the sleep is much better. Much deeper and healing deep sleep, much more vivid dreams and much more lucidity.
Doesn't have to be waterfasting of course. Just not eating too heavy at night for several hours before sleep already helps.
Yes, going to sleep slightly 'hungry' indeed increases your chance to have a LD and also improves your sleep.
Investigate "daylight diet" if you're interested in the relationship of diet and sleep.

The general opinion I'm getting is that most people thing it might work, but it wouldn't be worth going hungry for.

If it really worked every time I would be wafer thin.

I've found that when I wake up hungry, I'll almost always have a false awakening, particularly if I'm in a tent XD. But seriously, I always have an FA, "ask for food", "fall back asleep" and wake up, I don't know why this is.
So, maybe it does help to go to bed hungry.
