Red face Easy way to remember to do reality checks!

I'm new to this forum and haven't extensively browsed it yet so forgive me if this has already been mentioned. And hey, even if it has, it might prove helpful for people just getting into LDing.

Reality checks are important right? Well, if you're the sort of person who doesn't remember to do them at certain points or whatever, try writing something on your hand and performing a check every time you see it. For example, when you go to open a door you'll probably notice it. It can be anything - a word, shape, literally anything that'll prompt you to remember - I use 'DREAM' in big letters on my left hand and tend to notice it when I'm typing/eating/opening doors/using remotes etc. Words to do with LDing are obviously of more use.

      Hope this helps!

I try to do that, but my dreams change so much, I find that doing reality checks randomly helps me a lot, but more so, doing reality checks when something odd or unusual happens.

A few nights ago I had a dream a bear was chasing me in my house, I did an RC, last night I had a dream I was at my friends house, in the dream she had an orange cat, it morphed into my old cat, I realized my cat has been dead for 4 years, the cat morphed back to orange, I did an RC, etc.

so for me, the best time is when odd things happen, or just spontaneously, so it doesn't become too routine and you won't really question reality once in the dream. E.g, yesterday I saw people on the side of a road in the back of a truck digging dirt onto the side of the road (they were workers and it looked like they were in the line of a red light) perfect time to RC.

Another thing that works great for me atleast, is setting your watch to chime every hour. I don't remember were I read this, but now, for me, hearing my watch chime automatically makes me check out my fingers. I remember reading also, that during a sleep, if you heard your watch chime, there was a chance that it could trigger a reality check. Has never happened to me, but heh, why not? (:
