RC - closing and opening eyes

So far I have not been using Reality Checks at all, as they do not really work for me. As I have been only WILDing so far, I managed without RCs. Now the other day during my WILD practice I did have a dream:

I went along a road and started to feel woozy, I thought, wow, just feels like when I am ready to get into a LD. So I did check if things did feel "real" and thought, "yep, all real, I am awake". But there was still some doubt and all of a sudden I thought to try and close my eyes. When I am in a LD, when I close my eyes I loose vision for a bit, until I manage to reengage my vision. So I lost vision in my dream and became fully lucid.

Now I have a RC that does work for me, which is just to close and reopen my eyes. That is also very easy to do during the day

That sounds interesting as a reality check. As I was reading this, I had an idea. I wonder how effective it would be to use blinking as a realty check. For example, every time you blink, you're aware of blinking, throughout the whole day. It's kind of similar to ADA, but you would just be focusing on blinking.

That would be a very smart thing to do if it was a reliable reality check.

But for me opening and closing my eyes in a dream does nothing. Unless I try to summon something. But if I wasn't lucid or just semi lucid than I wouldn't fully believe that I could summon something... So I wouldn't.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

For me, closing my eyes even for the slightest amount of time kicks me out of lucidity, so I wouldn't.

Closing one's eyes, if they are in fact in a dream, can wake them up. I've done it two or three times though, but I didn't wake up - nothing happened at all, actually. It depends solely on the person.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

I think as one does not blink during a dream, to notice the absence of blinking could lead to lucidity. Maybe that is one reason why people have success with ADA.

When I started LDing I almost always did not have vision and just felt my way. When going through a wall I used to close my eyes to make it more easy. As long as I keep on doing things and have my other senses active the dream stays stable.

I guess all RC are individually either working or not. When I tried sticking my finger through my hand during LD, it did not go through. Also I tend to have always 5 fingers on one hand. In a LD I can fly, but not always in my non lucid dreams - and anyway that is just a bit obvious. I do not wear a watch with me.

After closing my eyes I sometimes have a change of scenery, but that is fine with me. So for my special case this is the first RC that does appear to be reliable and practical.

yep, i use closing my eyes as a method from waking from a dream.. soo i have to try realy hard not to close my eyes too long while lucid or it wont last long.. but they idea of a RC being something we do sooo often, would be awesome.
