You don't have to lie completely still. It is important to get comfortable, even if that means changing positions a few times.

Don't worry about waiting for, or trying to notice sleep paralysis or other types of hypnagogia. You will not be able to miss or mistake the sensations involved with entering the dream. If you do happen to feel any kind of hypnagogia, it will be intense, vivid, and realistic. Sometimes you don't feel anything at all. Either way, it is not something you can control.

What you do need to worry about is relaxing as much as possible while holding onto a bit of your awareness. Find a balance between falling asleep the way you normally do, and doing some simple mental task to keep yourself aware. You can bounce back and forth a bit. Let yourself drift a bit, then catch yourself with whatever exercise you're working on. Drift a little more... ect. By the time you reach the point where you can actually enter a dream, you should be so far outside your normal state of mind, you won't even be able to second guess what is happening.

I dont know. I dont feel anything, I lay down relax and focus of lucid dreaming then after a few mins I am suddenly in one. Tho I do sometimes hear voices which used to scare me. I have almost wilded before I even knew what a lucid dream was. I heard voices sometimes when I was relaxing in bed.
