does anyone have tips for a LD

      Hi,

first let me explain my situation, I have a 3 year old son who since he was born still wakes up 2-3 times a night and i am the one he needs to go back to sleep. most of the time just a pick up and cuddle and back in his bed and me back in mine.
i original was researching for dream recall as i could not recall any dreams then found this site. since 1st April i have been recording my dreams and my recall is about 3-4 dreams per night now, although most are very short poss due to poor sleep pattern.
i haven't found any good dream signs yet to help me.

i did have a lucid dream before i started my journal was so excited it ended straight away. i had my second a few nights a go and again was so excited i didn't want to loose it i kept doing RC's which made it last a little longer but as i spent most of my time doing RC's i didn't get to enjoy the dream but i hope i learnt from this. when i dream, the dreamscape or situation is so wrong i don't understand why i don't pick up on it and become lucid. i have also tried having apple juice, bananas, vitamins, peanut butter, mustard, chocolate before bed none of these have made any difference. i use my mobile phone which beeps every hour when i hear this i do a nose pinch i also do this when things seems a little strange, i also tell myself as i am going to sleep to have lucid dream or i will be aware i am dreaming.

is it common for me at this stage to have only had 2 short LD's? is my poor sleep pattern causing me to not have a LD? does anyone have any ideas for me at the stage i am at with good dream recall etc?

please don't suggest WILD or WBTB or similar as i can't do this in my situation

thanks for any help i receive.

keep repeating to yourself when you go to sleep that you'll have a lucid dream, and also raise general awareness without specifically doing a RC. try running through the day or from the last nap you took briefly before you fall asleep. so that you remember where you started and stopped the last time you fell asleep.

Once you wake up , get out of bed and take care of your baby your chances of a WILD or WBTB have diminished greatly. I would suggest simple visualization while reminding yourself that the goal is to awaken in a dream. This would be considered a form of MILD (although I really don't like all the goofy acronyms)
