Well, the truth is it doesn't. You seem to be getting techniques for Attaining Lucidity and your dream recall mixed up.
Your dream recall (Witch for some reason is referred to as a noun, I find that very strange) Is basically your Ability to remember what happens in your dreams. I have been a member to this site for about a month and a half now, and my dream recall has gotten pretty good. I've been able to recall a dream that seemed to last about a half hour. But dream recall is essential for lucid dreaming. Because, some people who struggle with being lucid can remember long, vivid dreams, but never become lucid. Essentially, you can have one without the other, but If you have a lucid dream, and your recall fails, then you won't remember it when you wake up, and what's the fun in that?
If you already have a good Dream Recall, then your ready to start with induction techniques. These are the strategies that you can employ to get lucid (Consciously aware that your dreaming IN a dream.) this is because with a dream recall, you will remember your dreams, but you will still just go though them without being lucid. There are three biggies DILD (Dream induced lucid dream) MILD (Mnemonically induced lucid dream) and WILD (Wake induced lucid dream) You have probably heard alot about doing Reality Checks and stuff like that. So if your recall is already good, look around the forums on Induction techniques etc.
