I agree. It even helps with dry spells. For 4 nights in a row, I had gone from 4 dreams a night to maybe 1 really sketchy and blurry scene. Then one night before bed, I read through my 6 week long dream journal. That night, I had 3 great dreams.
It helps keep your mind on dreams and thinking about all the stuff associated with it, like MILD, DILD, WILD, and so on. If you just read up on dreams here, then go to bed, you wouldn't gain anything, aside from more dreams per night.
Dream journals are a must have if you are planning on Lucid/OBEing. It's as simple as that.
