      Please try this !

I want to see if it works for other people too,

at the corner of your gum use your teeth to gently squeeze it until you feel a bit of pain, not much but enough to distinguish it hurts and your not dreaming.

do it a good couple of times in the day randomly, then as your nearing going to bed do it slightly more frequently

then as you lie down to sleep put pressure on it so it slightly hurts and relax BUT DONT release any pressure,

Close your eyes and tell your self your going to lucid dream / visualise.

from experience you will fall asleep and the lucids start !!!!

Pretty simple here is my take on it

The pain is a reality check

you can bite your gum in a dream withoug it hurting

your falling asleep with your reality check in progress as you fall aslep you reality check goes, your body is then telling its self it is not in reality as the reality check isnt working, if your not in reality where are you ? Dreaming BURT your body can still feel the pressure on the inside of the gum and thinks you can do that lucid dreaming etc etc

you will enter a dream / lucid dream

works great would like to hear feedback

Any reality check that works, for you, is a good reality check. Unfortunately, I don't think this would work, for me. I imagine this would probably just give me nightmares about biting my lip and bleeding all over the place. I have a lot of dreams about my teeth, lips, and gums. Pain is not a good indicator, for me. I feel pain in dreams all the time.

Sounds interesting. Only...how exactly do you bit your gum?? (no, really I can't seem to do this)

People become lucid from awareness, not reality checks themselves. But it's a good way to confirm the fact that you're dreaming once you do become lucid. Although for myself, I feel pain a lot in dreams so it probably wouldn't work for me.
We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Another thing, you can feel pain in dreams. Especially lucid dreams. So i dont think this is a great way to become lucid.

I was always a dreamer, in childhood especially. People thought I was a little strange.-Charley pride

this is truth my friend. Most people think that the reality checks themselves give lucidity, but there always has to be a slight awareness to do the RC.

I can try this. I never feel pain in my dreams, and I think I can do the gum biting thing. It's just so you bite down on your gum until it is just on the side of no pain, bordering on pain right?

I've had lucid dreams for 30+ years and have never felt pain. Besides, if you are lucid you are controlling your dreamscape. Maybe you are talking about vivid dreams?

Methods a dud. I tried it last night, didn't work, no surprise, it was the first night only, but...

It depends on being a noticeable habit. That you do it often enough and you notice it enough so both carry over to dreams, etc etc.

However, besides biting the shit out of your mouth, it never develops into a habit. You are basically inflicting pain on yourself, to keep yourself aware. The body won't and doesn't allow this, so it will never catch on. Sure, you can have habits that do hurt, but none that are basically you hurting yourself on purpose, even a little bit.

Pain isn't a reality check because you can still feel pain in a dream...
