I'm looking for the best ways to WILD.

These WILDs should be those that people who want to jump straight into the pool would do, no dream journal, no RCs, no anything, just to wild and to do it vividly.
      How would this be done?

It's best to actually have experiences with lucid dreams before you WILD. Dream journals and RCs are very important to having your first lucid dream. When you have experience with this, then try to WILD. This way when you do, you will know what to expect when you WILD especially when you study up on its techniques.

So true. Impaintence is a sign of someone who is easily frustrated when things don't happen quickly. Frustration causes stress. Stress is bad for dreaming. Most new people take weeks or longer to have their first, if they are natural at it. In short, your friends aren't the type that should be trying this. Still, encourage them to take the long route because it's worth it.

      A couple of thoughts.

First of all if you are looking to WILD there is a subforum specifically for that

Learning to WILD is a personal journey. I find meditation on my breath to be a good way to remain awake during the various presleep phases, but this works for me due to extensive experience with this technique prior to even discovering lucid dreaming. The trick then becomes to remain aware and immersed in the hypnagoic hallucinations before sleep, as normally I would pull my focus back on the breath. But I stress that is highly PERSONAL.

I am not a strong WILDer, but at least this technique has made me aware of what happens as I transition through presleep and various NREM phases. This awarenes of sensations means that they get less and less distracting.

I agree with the above posts mentioning that WILDing is by no means the best introductionary road to lucid dreaming. If you expect to dicover this method quickly and it working reliably thereafter, I am affraid you will get dissapointed and as Caretaker noted stress and frustration is a dream killer. Besides you may find yourself exerting too much effort to actually fall asleep (I am struggling majorly with this! ^^).

If you are determined to continue this pursuit there are a couple of things you could start doing i suppose. Learn about sleep phases. With this understanding learn how they feel for you. Get proficient in calming yourself (and mind) and paying attention to bodily cues. There are better times to WILD than others, having slept prior to attempting it is key, when is a good time of waking up for you?

This guide helped me achieve my first 3 WILDs, but I warn you that I had far more failed attempts than succesful ones, that being said, you may find it coming naturally to you

I wish you the best of luck with your quest, but suggest you try out different techniques as well =)
