From personal experience I can say yes.

That issue is debatable. I would say that most of the people here will say yes. I'd say no. There's a conflict between what you might personally end up experiencing and what everything we currently know about the world tells us.

Whether you choose to believe or not is up to you.

Yes shared lucid dreaming is very possible especially if you think dreaming is beyond your subconscious exclusively. namaste

Using current scientific knowledge, I doubt it.

no evidence for it really. what it comes down to is your own personal experience, and it can't hurt to try it out.

Waking Nomad claims to have done it with some people here on DV! I'm sure if you have any questions about it he would answer.

You mean Waking Nomad who wrote... this? http://www.dreamviews.com/f19/secret...-plane-102986/
Yeeeeah okay. I don't exclude the possibility of shared dreaming, but I'll wait for more confirmations

"[...] As a result, the practitioner may decide that a parallel world has been entered: the world beyond, the astral plane, mental space, or the ether. Although travel in the phase can lead to many places, this does not mean that the phase allows travel through or use of actual, alternate worlds. The practitioner should be reasonable"

As odd as it sounds, all the studies I've seen done on SDing (there aren't many, but they're out there) seemed to suggest that shared dreaming is a real phenomena.

Not too surprising, since I've experienced several myself. The mechanism that enables them, however, is still something I'm trying to work out. I've got some ideas, but nothing concrete, unfortunately.

Haha, I was hoping someone wouldn't catch that. I always type "shared" instead of "beyond". x'D

Only spongebob can dreamwalk, the rest of us are mere mortals. I don't believe anyone who claims to have done it, because there's no evidence proving it. If I were going to attempt it with someone, I'd tell the person a "password" in the dream. Then after we wake up, I'd ask him/her what the password was, then I'd know it actually happened and I didn't just dream about the person.

That's exactly what I would do. I'd also tell the person to type up their dream, and then we'd both post our entries at the same time and see if we really did share a dream. I've yet to attempt one though.

You've clearly done no research into this, have you?

For your perusal: an abstract for an article (requires access to EBSCO Host, get it through your university, if possible) from Journal of Psychology detailing a case study in dream sharing involving dreams reported by an anonymous couple (independently from one another). The study ends up showing, statistically, that the experiences the couple were sharing had about a 1 in 2000 to 1 in 1 billion billion chance (depending on the dream) of happening randomly.

Please do some leg work before you start blindly believing things and calling people liars. Seriously, such behavior is worse than that of some religious folk I know.

I once introduced myself to a DC and told them that we were in a dream. I asked them to contact me on DV, MSN, Youtube, etc but they never did. I'm not sure if shared dreaming is possible but personally, I'll have a hard time believing it until I experience an SD for myself. Like Puffin, I'd want them to type out their dream and then post it at the same time as me.

Oddly, I never achieved any definitive success using that method, even though I thought it'd be the best option in my earlier experimentation. To be honest, I didn't even fully buy into the whole thing until I had a few select people dictate dream experiences to me that shared such striking similarities in plot and content with dreams I had, until then, kept completely to myself. It's one thing when you're trying for it, but those out-of-the-blue experiences are something else entirely.

Would it be weird if I asked you to try and share a dream with me?

Weirder stuff has happened in BD. XP

I'd be willing to work with you on it, but, like I said, I've never had much luck inducing them (and I don't think they're as big a deal as people make them out to be). The experiences I trust more readily just sorta occurred on their own.

      I'm going to say no.
I haven't been here long, but i can already see there are a lot of people who believe otherwise, i'm not trying to discredit them, but this is something i'd have to experience for myself to ever believe it as i can't make sense of it in my head.

A dream is your mind still working while your body rests, and it's localised entirely in your mind. There are a lot of theories about what dreams are, why we have them, how our minds come up with them and everything else, but a lot of people still believe different things. I personally don't think there's a "meaning" or a "purpose" behind dreams, i reckon they are either random information that your mind is still thinking over or your subconscious entertaining it's self.

I believe this is no more possible than psychics reading people's minds. You could perhaps trick someone into having a dream about you, the same way you can trick people into making decisions you want them to, but there is no real psychic bond between minds imo.
