Well, it seems to me that mcwillis is actually performing his/her own variant of a DEILD. Pretty interesting stuff indeed. Do you keep your eyes closed while performing this?

No. The only requirement is to just dive downwards. It is from Michael Raduga's books

I was actually interested to see if this worked, so last night I had a lucid and as I started to lose it and everything turned black I tried to dive straight into the ground. I however hit solid ground, but I did a forward roll when I hit the ground and just continued to roll. The entire time I was in complete darkness, but somehow I knew that If I kept rolling the dream would come back and it did, but I was in a different area then last time lol.

Interesting. I have never hit the ground of the dream I have been in. Glad to hear that it worked for you. I am sure that if one acts quickly enough it guarantees a DEILD. One time I used this the original lucid lasted for about 30 seconds. The 2nd lucid lasted for about a minute. The third lucid lasted for about ten minutes. The fourth lucid didn't occur as I didn't act quickly enough and woke up. I tried other re-entry techniques but stayed awake.

KingYoshi's question was, 'Do you keep your eyes closed while performing this?'
