My sisiter discovered a great DEILD ALARM

It is called a lux minute minder.

Amazon.com: Lux CP2428-59 Mechanical Classic Timer, White: Kitchen & Dining

If you think it is too loud jsut put it in a drawer to make it quiter. It ticks but if its in a drawer you wont hear the ticker. It goes off after an hour and turns itself off after 3 seconds.

What's so special about it? My phone can do alarms at infinite times of night with auto-dismissal, auto-snooze, custom ringtone, with lights or without lights, etc.

...and the app was infinitely less than $10.. it was free.

AFAIK that thing just does one alarm, and just like any another timer.

^ To be fair, I have seen a lot of people looking for an alarm that will shut off automatically after a short enough time...what phone/app anyway?

The auto-shutoff on this would be good I guess, but yeah, it's not too hard to find/make your own for free, and only having an hour before it goes off doesn't seem very convenient.

On the android market.. For free.. Alarm Clock Plus.

You can set it to auto-shutoff after so many seconds or minutes.

The reason it is great, was the thing your speaking was NEVER mentioned in any threads. So your method was something the members on this site did not know anything about. What exactly is an APP? Where do I get an APP? I have never heard of that. And my phone has no alarm that turns itself off either. It seems good if you don't know what the hell an APP is or where to get one. Not everyones phone comes with an alarm that shuts itself off.

      APP is short for Application.

My phone has no such application. What type of phone has it? I never saw any threads that stated the type of phone, so that's why I made this thread.

A 'phone app' is an application that can range from entertainment, games, business, etc. They can do various things. For example, Angry Birds is an application for the iPhone and Android. That is an application.

Applications are most commonly found on Android/iPhone deices. As well as Nokia phones.

Its only free if you have an android phone. Not everyone has one of those. And they cost like 150 dollars. Its not free.

Actually, I almost chose one of the free phones over my current phone.. It can be free.

I use Lucid Dreamcatcher for Android. It does all that, and more.

      And it's free.

You know, I've been looking for an alarm clock since I don't have a phone or a pc with speakers in my room. I never once thought about a kitchen timer though, so thanks for this!

I am still glad I made this thread. Do you think that a newb who has never DEILD before wants to go out and buy a $200 dollar phone? No. The phone thing is very expensive. First they DEILD with a kitchen timer. Then when they are ready they buy the phone. I agree though, its a good idea to move onto the phone eventually.

I understand not everybody will have one, but it was a point of comparison. I just fail to find what is so great about a kitchen timer. I think you'd be better off getting a $30 or so alarm clock that sets two alarms.. One for waking up in the morning and one for WILD/DEILD

I thought the title said "My sister discovered a great DILDO" when I realised my mind's playing dirty tricks on me again.

Don't forget that you can wake yourself up naturally with enough practice. It's a good skill to have

I also use lucid dream catcher on my android phone.

Thanks for this thread. A lot of people without a smart phone would love this.

FYI most people do have an android or iPhone. So using the app would be smarter. But like I said some people do not have these phones.

This isn't a discussion to talk about phones or apps. If you don't want to use the kitchen timer then move on to the next thread unless you have something PRODUCTIVE. To say against it.

I am making a Dream Journaling / LD Statistic Monitoring / Technique Recommendation program called reLuDr. reLuDr will be ABSOLUTELY FREE SOFTWARE under the GNU General Public License. Of course it will contain an advanced alarm system to use with CAN-WILD or anything that supports custom WAV sounds.

Release date: late August to early November (not sure) and will get updates every one or two weeks, probably more frequently towards the beginning.

I can also recommend Alarm Clock Plus for Androids. Works like a charm, you can pick the sounds or just vibrate if you prefer that. Just use the auto-snooze/auto-dismiss function..
