      reality check

      Hi

In order to obtain lucidity, i do reality checks. But, since my work is very demanding regarding concentration, i dont always remember to do reality checks (sometimes i do 1 reality check per day).

I tought to set my wristclock alarm, and each time it went bip i would do a reality check...but i have a question...

Once i´m in the dream world, and since my wristwatch isn´t...will my subconscious mind do the bip noise (like a mnemonica) in order for me to RC?

I know i didnt explain my doubt well, but i think you´ll get what i´m asking.

Thanks in advance for all the help!!

      Hey FredRibeiro,

Here are some other things I do in order to remember to RC:

-I write RC on the back of my hand, and everytime I see it a do a RC.
-Everytime I walk through a doorway, I RC.
-Everytime I go to the bathroom I RC.

Anyway, I used to use my watch to remind myself to RC like you. After about a month or two I got in the habbit of doing them, without needing my watch anymore. In that 1-2 months the beeps carried down into my dreams, and when I did a reality check I realized I was dreaming. I think if you see or hear anything too much, you will start to dream about it. It shouldn't be a problem...good luck!

Exactly what Mancon said. I play games alot, and a certain game may take weeks to beat. I almost always dream about the current game I'm playing. If I could link R.C.s with playing games, odds are I would have a better time getting lucid. However, gaming doesn't work well with staying aware, you need to get into the game to get good at it.
Your watch should be perfect for it, its a simple way to keep your mind on reality checks. I don't think the bip noise will carry over to dreams, I think your mind will just suddenly remember to do one, and you will do one, and there you go.

I wish you luck, and I see a lucid coming to you very soon.

Write something on the back of your hand. For example, I write the Greek letter lamda on the back of my left hand and carry on doing my daily stuff. When I happen to see it, I do a reality check.

I once wrote ADA on the back of my left hand, to remind me to keep focused. When my dad asked me about it though I just said someone at school randomly drew it on me, I didn't have it in me to tell him it was to help me wake up in my dreams...

Well he's not the sort of dad who is totally interested in everything I do. He's no asshole dad, but if I told him I was into dreaming, and even if I explained what we can do, he would just smirk and go "Lol, dream journal".

      I don't mind, that's his humour.

Well, RC´s apart, it really blows my mind, regarding dream recall, what a person can achieve if using the right sentence in MILD. I used to repeat to myself a sentence that i came to learn was in fact to weak to transport intention into my subconscious mind. Then i thought about a basic, direct and strong sentence to set my brain to recall dreams, and voilá, it got better...

      Just felt like sharing this.
