That is pretty cool, I thought the later REM stages lasted up to 1 hour, I think I am right though. |

I recorded REM rebound (2011-09-22 « LSDBase) last night, after 3 late nights (which is under 6 hours for me). Of interest is that the rebound happened on a night that was also late. |

Heh, good job, Rem usually happens, when your body is Over tired, or Really exhausted, to the point when you lay down, it's like sleeping on a cloud. heh, me myself, i have never been in REM, but i've had a few lucid dreams. The reason for me not getting REM, i haven't really been exhausted Or tired lately.. dang insomnia :/ |

Well, the human body is interesting in that it may not always do what we expect...things like REM can vary both on an individual and nightly basis. Also, I've read that you tend to get REM rebound AND NREM rebound after a period of lack of sleep. Basically, once the body gets the minumum NREM it needs, it rebounds on REM like crazy. So for example you go to sleep after being sleep deprived, you'll spend the first couple of hours getting NREM and then after that you'll get ton of REM sleep that would normally be a shorter period of REM. |
