1. First off, always remember To practice up on dream recall. You could be having a lucid dream once a week for all you know, but it is usually complicated to remember. There are a few ways to Gain up your Dream Recall.
Dream Recall Tips:
-Before you go to bed each night, Out loud, say "I will Remember my dreams as I wake up". That is a proven method to actually work in most occasions.
- Right when you awake, stay still, you will be in the Dream state as you first wake up. Try not to move, just think about what dream you had last night for a few minutes.
- Keep a Dream Journal. Don't ever feel like (Even if you had a pointless or weird dream) you shouldn't write any dream down, Every dream helps just a little bit. If you do not remember any detail, just write "I do not remember my dreams last night" and throughout your day, if you remember anything, write it down.
- Avoid Loud alarm clocks as much as possible. Most likely, the best time to recall dreams, will be on a weekend, where there usually isn't a specific time to wake up. Otherwise, it'd be useful to wake up to a quiet, Zen alarm clock when needed.
-If you awake in the night, try remembering anything that happened that night, Think about if you just awoke from a dream. Try to gather up details.
2. ~Use Reality Checks.. Reality checks is The Most required instance to even Start lucid dreaming. When you are awake, try to perform Reality checks while you are awake, Many times through out your day. For example, when you wake up, when you are eating, while you are walking, after you go to the bathroom, etc. Some Useful reality checks are:
- imagine an object, in your hands or infront of you.
ex: close your eyes, and imagine a sandwhich right infront of you, if there's no sandwhich when you open your eyes, you should be awake.
- Look at your hands, and yourself in the mirror, missing any fingers? Do you look different?
- jump in the air from time to time, and try to float as you do. If you are dreaming, you will begin to float as if gravity has no effect.
- put your hands, closing your nose, and close your mouth. Than try to breath through your nose. If you can, than you are dreaming.
- Try to remember How you got here, if you woke up this morning.
3. Other Tips to help with Lucid Dreaming.
- Each night, try in your head, saying "I will be concious in my dreams tonight".
- Every night, try to release stress before going to bed. Calm down, and try to think of good memories of your childhood, or just about anything that puts your mind in a happy place while you are lying down in bed.
- Try waking up in the middle of the night, walking around, maybe get a drink, and watch T.V. for a few minutes, then once you are more awake, try to relax again, and go back to sleep.
