Try and stay calm. We tend to get a bit excited- lucid dreaming is |

Hello fellow Lucid dreamers. My last 3 "lucid dreams" I have awoken right after realizing it was a lucid dream. The two first I did the finger through palm reality check, but it feels like, as I do the RC, that my mind thinks "OH S***, HE KNOWS HE'S DREAMING, WAKE HIM UP!".. I'm not too excited thinking "OMG I'M LUCID", I keep calm. But I never get to stabilizing at all. The last of these three lucid dreams I was being chased, and a couple seconds before he caught me I realized I was Lucid. I thought to myself "Okay I want this to work.. eeeh... I'll push him away with a shockwave!" But before I did it I was already awake again... Why do I wake up? Another Lucid dream before this where I woke up, when I realized I was Lucid it instantly became more vivid. I also woke up one or two seconds after that. |

IM IN UR DREEM VUUZ 4UM....
Well, why I think it's weird, is because I don't get excited. I'm quite good at staying calm, and I've had a couple other Lucid dreams before, but this same thing has now happened to me 3 times in a row. Thanks though |

One reason could be that the REM period ended, and made you wake up naturally. If not, then it's possible to have a DEILD. Or it could be like you said, that you are in fact excited even though you think aren't. This is a common problem in the beginning, so don't worry about it! |

Why do we wake up suddenly? I think there is a 'fear of death' thing involved ... I know there is for me anyway. After many years I have accepted the fact that I might be dead (and that's okay) and this extends the dream. I also try not to get too excited in an LD. Doing exciting things... flying, leaping canyons, blowing walls open... tends to wake me up. Anyhoo, good luck to you! |

I too, have woken up from an DILD right after I figured it out. I didn't think I was excited either, but my heart was racing IRL when I woke up. |

Don't think of yourself lying in bed, and try to stay away from visualizing it. Keep your focus on the dream and make sure your mind doesn't wander off. And as others have said, it's also very beneficial to stay calm, but it appears you don't have that much of an issue with that. |

We all live in a kind of continuous dream. When we wake, it is because something,
some event, some pinprick even, disturbs the edges of what we have taken as reality.

Thanks a lot all of you! I hope my next one will be my first full length vivid Lucid, I''m really close after 7 lousy LD's. I really appreciate it! |
