RCs are overboiled really, you should try to raise your general awareness and trying to stick your fingers through your palm 10 times a day isn't the best way to do that. I never RC during the day.
In my opinion MILD is the most powerful technique, that being said if you want to go down the SAT/critical state testing route then go for nose-plug, it's the simplest and most reliable and can be surprisingly inconspicuous in social/public settings

The reason why MILD is so effective in my opinion is that you can really apply any scenario to it and include you lucid dream goal intention in your induction technique. In your case, simply visualise yourself in your last dream in 3rd person, say 'I'm dreaming!' in your head as you're visualising this and then 'zoom' into first person with your visualisation and see yourself carrying out whatever goal you want to do. Most effective with WBTB.
