      Question Maintaining Lucidity

As you can see iv not had many LD's but when i do they dont last long. i know the technuieqs to maintain, like rubbing hands, spinning, looking at detail. My lucids only seem to last 2-4 mins sometimes less, now is this just begginers sickness or what? does you mind gradualy adjust and get used to lucids and make them longer?? also, it doesnt seem that i get overexcited, which is the case with many, id say im fairly calm and do do my reality checks ect. input?? thanks

The more you lucid dream the longer they will last.

I have had LD's for decades. They are notoriously short... but what a ride! My advice is to not do too many exciting things as the adrenaline rush alone will wake you up. I avoid flying (hard to do, I know) or radically changing the dreamscape. I try to avoid conversations with dream characters although at times it is unavoidable. I kind of just take what comes and scope out the environment. This tends to make the LD last longer.

Most last only a few minutes... every now and then I will have one longer then 5 minutes. It's a rare thing however.

Yup! That is a good time for a beginner. I promise the more you practice, the longer your dreams will be. Stabilizing a dream is about using your senses. You want to pay attention to details, feel/smell/see/hear the things around you. Spinning in a dream works to stabilize it because when you spin you are generating more dream content that will keep you in. Just keep trying!
