Degrees Of Lucidity - Lucid or Not?

Rebecca (my ex) and I were being investigated by the police. Apparently some woman had reported that we were "dealers in pornography." We were both mortified. Then we learned that evidence had been discovered in our home. Totally freaked out, Rebecca ran to the edge of a balcony (we were evidently in a high building) and flung herself over the railing . . .

I ran to the edge and could see her falling quickly to her death. She was facing up as she fell, and seeing me, she yelled, "I love you!" In utter panic, I yelled back to her, "YOU ARE DREAMING!" (The phrase came from nowhere. Frankly, I had no "conscious" realization that this was a dream). At the moment she heard me, her body wrenched into a sudden bird-like swoop - and just missing the ground, she soared up and safely landed on a lower balcony. Even this did not make me lucid! - at least not on any level that I consciously remember. This fascinating dream continued without lucidity for a short time, and I am very fortunate that I recalled it. /Stephen Berlin

At first I thought you meant this was real not a dream

However, I would not consider this lucid, though very close. Lucidity to me is knowing that you are dreaming and having some type of control and from the sound of your dream you did not have any control. These happen every once in a while and just pretty much annoy you since you were so close to getting lucid. Semi-lucids, in my opinion, are when you are aware you are dreaming but can't control anything. Like if you were watching a movie; you know you're watching a movie but you can't control anything about it. Some people get this confused with just low levels of control (common in beginners) which can cause some confusion among the community. Everyone seems to have a slightly different view on this and this is just mine, so you really just have to decide for yourself what you consider "lucid" and "non-lucid." However, fully lucid dreams are completely unique and identifiable so you'll know when you have one.

      There's your answer: not lucid.
