      MILD- my idea

so basically, i am an inquiring person with a love of fixed ideas/certainty, (mainly due to my autism) so i decided that MILD would be best for me, because it puts a fixed idea/belief into my head, which i do a lot anyway.

one thing i have started doing is writing out my mantra on word over and over to get it into my head

"When I am dreaming, I shall perform a reality check and become aware that I am dreaming, thus attaining lucidity"

i feel more comfortable with MILD, so i will stick with it from now on (still not had an LD yet, but i havent been trying for too long).

Is my technique for convincing myself a good idea? im not sure how other people do it, but any feedback will be appreciated.

First of all I chose MILD for the same reason. im guessing you have aspergers autism as well. But it sounds great and with practice MILD does work. How long have you been trying to lucid dream using MILD?

only a few days, i can be patient with the truly important/meaningful things, just not the frivolous tasks.

      and yes, i have ADHD and Aspergers Syndrome-it isn't a disorder, it's evolution! : )

it's funny though, i just write it between activities and there is this massive wall of text building up. also, to make me remember reality checks, i changed my background on the desktop and my screensaver to AM I DREAMING? it actually helps quite nicely.

glad to hear that it works for a fellow person with Aspergers (aspie as mum says) because that means i may suit the 'wiring' of my mind too.

Another way to remember RCs that i do is write an A on my palm and when I see it I RC. Do you still do the regular MILD after waking up in the middle of the night because thats when it is most effective. If you did this after 4.5 or 6 hours of sleep this would be most effective but doing it during the day helps too.

if i wake up at night, i still try to go lucid through MILD, also, i have started using the mantra: "i will remember my dreams" because my dream recall isn't great, but it seemed to work because although i didn't remember it when i woke up, i had thought i was just imagining it, and then, after about a half hour, i realized-i was dreaming and i remembered it all very suddenly.

so i just need to practice this until i realize that i was dreaming, during the dream, but im making progress, which cannot be said about the other methods : )

Ha thats exactly what I do right when I go to sleep with the I will remember my dreams mantra. When you wake up I would still recommend doing a traditional MILD because when using MILD, lucid dreams have to be the last thing on your mind before going to sleep.

Haha another thing you can try is reality checks to dreamsigns. For example if your dreamsign is the number 7, every time you see 7 in real life, you RC. Then you will have a much higher change of doing an RC in your dream.

omg you just added me and i see you like iron maiden. one of my favorite bands, although recently i have aquired a taste for power metal in the form of Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius.

anyway, it's quite funny cos 7 is my lucky number, because my favorite number 79, is too big

Ha im seeing them at the end of this month on their maiden england tour and I cant wait. I have just gotten into avenged sevenfold and megadeth. I usually only listen to british bands even though im from america because they are better but they are exceptions. whats power metal like?

Wow i just thought of some random number to use. Have you tried WBTB yet because it is probably the most succesful technique?

power metal, its hard to explain, just dont listen to dragonforce. in my opinion Sonata Arctica and Stratovsarius are easily the best power metal bands.

also, i had a lucid last night! i used the utter confidence and belief that it was easy method, and it worked

Ok this might sound like a weird question and i dont know if you can answer it but is there a lot of bass drum in power metal. i cant stand when a band uses loads of double bass except with judas priest they are allowed to.

Nice what was the dream like?

it was quite strange, but not in a bad way. check my Dream Journal for the info.

Sonata and Stratovarius use double bass, but it just gives a sense of pace to some of their songs. it's not like those thrash metal bands with the double bass blasting, thank god.
personally, i think that some Judas Priest music is close to power metal. Stratovarius especially reminds me of Judas Priest. their cover of Bloodstone is eerily similar.

      Ok I will

Well I have heard that dio, rob halford and bruce dickinson were the origins of power metal so i think i would like them. Have you ever heard avenged sevenfold?

Ha I was just listening to bat country but my favorite song is the wicked end. i just like bands that sing about war

I heard that smarter kids and many times kids with aspergers like metal because its a smarter genre of music than pop,hip hop, and rap. isnt that true.

i dont usually listen to the lyrics first time, but all the songs i like have deep lyrics. you can't talk about war songs without System Of A Down.
some of the thrash/speed metal bands i like (but have only heard a few songs of) are Anthrax, 1 slayer song, and a few metallica songs, and a few megadeth songs.
the slayer song is war ensemble, i like it for no real reason, but i love the triple kicks in the chorus.

yeah the only two metallica songs i like, one and for whom the bell tolls, are about war. i hav never rlly heard anthrax but i dont kno if i will like them cos i dont like slayer. you need to listen to an avenged sevenfold song where the rev sings. he sings best in a little piece of heaven, critical acclaim, and afterlife.

more popular than table tennis. it's funny though, when Andy Murray wins, he is the best British player, when he loses he is the Scottish number one.
I only played tennis a few times, and once i got the basic strokes down a bit, i found it a bit slow compared to Table Tennis, also it seems that the only thing you need besides technique is a decent sprint, or so i heard. i know it's more than that, but table tennis is a whole new sport. do you play tennis/other sports? cos i like doing sport in general, and besides table tennis, i am a good goalkeeper in football, am quite good at hockey (normal, not ice) and my 'work rate that is most likely to kill me one day' makes me good at frisbee as well.
basically, in sport, im not especially good, i just have some technical ability, and this one man team work rate : ) table tennis is the exception.

Yeah quite honestly I hate andy murray after he beat my favorite player mardy fish at the western and southern open last year. yeah tennis is much more than you think and I can understand how you think its slower than table tennis because it is. I play soccer(football to you) and am quite good at it and play sweeper but I dont really love it. And i have never played normal hockey(we call it lacrosse) but it seems fun although difficult. i was pretty good at baseball but let my emotions get the better of me and I didnt enjoy it very much. ok since you are british and carp fishing is giant there do you fish for carp?

no, i didnt know fishing was that big : ), i know one person that fishes and i dont fish. also lacrosse is a different sport altogether from hockey as far as i know.
as for football, by sweeper, do you mean making all the tackles why all the other people on your team dont bother? cos when im outfield, i have an outstanding slide tackle, but my temper gets the better of me. i know what to do and i am the only person that really tries to take command, so i secretly think myself as the captain. : )
