      I think I had a lucid dream...

So the other day, I took a nap, and told myself I would have a dream in my head as I drifted off to sleep. My dream consisted of me watching myself running down a street, (I feel like there was more to it, but I can't remember anything else).

Eventually, I noticed something was wrong, and I screamed "Oh my God I'm in a dream!" (my voice seemed echoed and strange). And that's when I felt like I was falling backwards, and out of control, until I opened my eyes and I was awake. I've read that it is hard to keep focus, and stay in the dream sometimes, so I think this was my first lucid dream, considering I woke up exactly after realizing I was in a dream. Any thoughts on this?

Heck yeah, that was a LUCID! Congrats!
People often wake up, because the excitement of realization is just so darn huge. I wouldn't agree that it's hard to stay in a dream (if you believe that, then it will be). It will definitelly get easier with more experience, as you learn not to get so excited and you read some tutorials about dream stabilization and control.

So welcome to the club! Don't hesitate to post if you need help. Happy dreams

Comgratulations on your first lucid. The realization of being in a dream is always a shock. Next time make sure to anchor yourself into the dream by using all five senses. Good luck.

Congratulations! Even though it was short, it was still a lucid dream. Hopefully this was just the first of many.
