Recently on another post a read of a type of RC that I don't recall reading about. I asked about this on said post, but got no response. What is a scar test RC? |

It's most likely just an RC someone made up, that works for them. |

Oh, okay. Thanks. |

I would not rely solely on that one RC. I have seen sore on my hand in dream before, that was not there IWL - strangely enough, I recognized that, but I was lucid at that time. I have seen my freckles in different formations than in WL. So to expect something to be there in your dream exactly, not sure if it's reliable enough. But if you add some other RCs and try this one for fun, why not. |

I have seen posts mention the scar test, possibly from when it was first recently mentioned. It's exactly what OctoberWind described. |

if you want a scar to use it for the rc put some salt on your arm and ice over it for 20 seconds it will hurt and give a minor scar (I did it) but I don't recommend this as I have 2 scars on my arm now that probably won't be fully gone for like a year |

Spoiler for Secret to LDing:
People make up many different reality checks that work for them. Some may work for you, others may not. The most effective reality check (in my opinion) is called the nose-pinch reality check. It's where you pinch your nose and try to breath through it. If you are awake you would be blocking air from coming in and wouldn't be able to breathe. If you were dreaming you would be able to. The thing about reality checks is you have to be aware while doing them. Don't just make it a habit that you do not think about. Also, you have to believe it will work. For example, with the nose-pinch check...BELIEVE you CAN breathe through your nose. If you assume you can't, then in the dream you won't be able to and won't get lucid. That make sense? |
