Have you actually experienced sleep paralysis while entering a dream or have you only experienced it while waking up? It can behave much differently when you experience it while entering a dream. You can actually pass through it without even noticing it. There is absolutely no reason to be afraid of it. With experience it can become so ordinary that it's actually boring. |

Sleep paralysis is over-rated. Do not concentrate on SP as it happens every night anyway. Concentrating on SP can have the exact opposite effect and cause insomnia. There is too much emphasis on SP in this forum. I say practice progressive muscle relaxation and visualization. This is a form of MILD. It helps to be positive about your ability to LD. |

Spoiler for Secret to LDing:
did you ever hear of DEILD? the only thing that you need for DEILD is good dream recall, and the ability to wake up completely still, and with your eyes shut. because when you wake up your brain is still half asleep and in REM, until you open your eyes, move around, and really wake up. if you wake up from a dream without moving or opening your eyes, you can very quickly enter your last dream, or create a new dream scene, in as little as 5-10 seconds. Only sometimes you dont get SP, but when you do go through SP while doing DEILD, remember its still very short.Another thing about DEILD is that you can also use this to chain your dreams. dont worry, even if you get SP with DEILD, its probably only going to be for ten seconds if you do the technique right. |

There are two kinds of lucid dreams, dream-induced lucid dreams and wake-induced lucid dreams. There are numerous techniques, but they all aim at inducing one of those two. Now, you could perhaps argue that DEILD is a separate type, but that's besides the point. |
