You must be a passive observer on the free flowing illogical thoughts that start to appear near sleep. Your "awareness" must be restricted to only the most abstract of thoughts.

As for SP: forget about SP. SP has nothing to do with WILD, despite what some really bad guides may say. What you're looking for is HH (hypnagogic hallucinations) and vibrations. However, HH and vibrations are merely a signpost telling you that you've arrived at the threshold, and should not be actively sought out. Remember, your thoughts are free flowing, possibly illogical. You are nothing more than a very abstract passive observer. Resist the urge to think.
i completley understand now. It was just so confusing, because i read dozens of WILD guides and half of them just say trick your body into SP by staying still in uncomfortable positions and the other said the opposite

Guides by mzzkc go into more detail. Here's the main one:

xpin2winx, I suggest then that you stop reading all that stuff. Listen to Cmind, because he is correct, and check out Mzzkc's work, because he has a real handle on the insanity that has gripped many on this site regarding "SP."

If you're interested, I just finished a course on WILD that you might want to review. It's missing all the bells, whistles and scary stuff those other threads have, and has the nerve to call SP just so much "noise," but maybe it'll help...
