      10 minute WBTB

Any recommended things to do to keep myself occupied during a 10 minute or so WBTB? I was thinking of just sitting up and reading, but I hear some people say it's not good to do anything involving words or games. Should I throw some clothes on and wander about outside for those 10 minutes? It's usually pretty cold in the mornings here, so would that be a bad idea or a good idea? Should I just throw a blanket over my shoulders, sit there and meditate/visualize? That's what I'm leaning towards if reading is out.

I think anything is good but that's because I become aware so quick. If you wake up really drowsy then you will want to do things to slightly activate your awareness, like reading or calculations. If you wake up completely revitalised and full of energy it's better you do something less intensive.
Honestly however I don't believe it makes much of a difference, sometimes I DEILD when I'm barely awake and sometimes I DEILD when I feel like it's midday.

I don't recommend going outside, it will most likely wake you up too much and make your mind think, that sleeping is over and it will 'wake up' to start your day.

Math is good to activate your logic center, reading your old lucids or dreams to motivate and to set your mind, thinking about what you want to happen and maybe read your lucid goals. Once I watched youtube about LDs and OBEs and I got a lucid from that. Then some mantras and visualization in bed and then I keep saying my mantra.

      Yes to both ^^

You can visualize stuff if you're into that too And try not to use a lot of light, I think. That can wake you up too much too.

Maybe it's a dream and if I scream, it will burst at the seams.

Okay, looks like I'm going for the meditation + visualization, then. Now to just put sticky notes all over my bed to motivate myself to actually do it when I wake up.

Just be careful you don't fall asleep too quickly, I find that just visualizing makes me nod off. X)

Why does visualization work? Its quite simple, actually. We visualize and we dream in the same area of our big human brain. This area is known as the secondary visual cortices (collectively known as the cortex) .

Hah, I almost passed out meditating for my WBTB and I think it might have actually made me more tired. Might try reading instead, tonight.

Something else I feel like I should ask, is...
Why do I get the most scenes playing out in my mind at night before I go to sleep, but hardly anything after I've woken up in the night? Is this normal? They hit me only about 2 minutes after I get in bed, too. If I try to watch one, it feels like it kicks me back.
